Raptor Camp is too strong?

SlashStriker··8 votes·2,620 views

That camp ever since preseason started i noticed that that camp is

  • the hardest to kill
  • does the most damage

Currently i noticed that you should keep your smite specially for this camp else you gonna way too much damage but i still do think they are way too strong and need nerf. Too tanky for 6 units to fight at once

I think it works out quite nicely.

Not letting junglers mindlessly clear camps with little effort and gank at 90% hp with full combos ready.

Forcing you to think 2 or 3 steps ahead hardly calls for nerfs.

All of the junglers finish their clear at ~4:10 minutes or earlier at level 4, regardless of whether or not they had to skip a camp.

There's hardly any actual thinking.

Start red and don't smite, pop a pot and smite big raptor.

yes its what i do but still the camp is way too strong compared to all other camps it might be even stronger than red buff itself

Kill little raptors first, don't bother with the camp at all if you're a single target jungler or your AoE is weak AF early.

No, it is not too strong. It just is made for champs that can deal out AoE damage and to those champs it is not hard to kill and does not do too much damage.

Depend on your Champ... I clear raptors fast and easy w/ Sejuani, but golems don't feel worth the effort...

Krugs are always worth the effort if they're at the end of your clear or you're starting Krugs.

Krugs->Red gives you level 3.

You cannot start Krugs, though - they spawn 15 seconds later than everything else.

WoonStruck1 votes

You can start Krugs though. Yes, you start your clear 15 seconds later, but you also hit level 3 earlier than average, and with health to gank if you so choose. In addition, more red uptime since you're clearing faster from higher level/extra ability.

If you start Krugs you have more health by the end of your clear, more experience, and more gold.

Unless you're Masters+ (many of which also do this anyway), you will not be punished for your 15 second later clear. If your laner wards blue before he's forced to head to lane, you will easily know if you need to go take their blue quadrant.

No its not too strong. Not everyone is intended to take it first clear.

The problem is that leashes are a thing, so the champs with strong AoE clear who CAN do chickens first clear don't suffer when taking red/blue/gromp.

Did you tried killing the small ones first before the big one?

Papa Slothy1 votes

if you kill the small ones first its easy

BladeSteel1 votes

I like the fact that its harder. It makes the good junglers stand out from the bad ones early (depending on champ of course).

Meep Man1 votes

Its meant for AoE junglers. Also, be sure to kill the small ones first.

There's a lot of them so you want someone with AoE Amumu Gragas Graves Hecarim Malphite RekSai Sejuani Sion Zac

Or you could always just be friends with them Ivern

Or ignore them entirely and go get something from the other side of the jungle Nunu

the small raptors are as tanky as the big one thats the major problem

cus of this ive started going blue gromp wolves on most of my junglers

The camp's designed to be hard for champions with limited AOE, you main Yi, a champ with a single AOE ability that's too weak to take down or significantly damage the little chickens and always misses at least one, often two of them. It makes sense that the camp is fairly difficult for you.

There's some junglers who love Raptors and clear it out with ease. Amumu is the extreme example, he kills the camp in about 5 seconds but really any tank or mage with high impact AOE spells has no problems with them.
