Autofill exists and regular supports are just boring to play lol. Personally, I pick mage supports because Im not gonna sit there and try to heal/peel for the adc that does nothing anyway in my low plat games...
Risk of Fate1 votesWhen I picked up Lux, she was heavily used as a Support alongside Syndra and Hiemerdinger. To this day I still think of them as Supports even though I know now they're mages. This goes true for Volibear and Sion (who I remember had a bug with FotM with Thresh in that he'd have a 5th orb thing floating around him)
People set the standards, not the characters. Calling them Mage supports instead of just supports sets a low standard for them which really shouldn't happen. Let them play the role people don't want to, though I'm fairly sure ADC is far less desired now because 5 man bot lane parties.
