I don't understand LP gain and loss.

Hey guys! How are you doing? So I dropped from G3 to S1 in a week. Today I decided to try to climb back up. I get on, have a few on and off games, wins and losses and somehow after an equal amount of both i drop down to 11 lp from 43. So, i play a few more get 4 wins in a row and then 1 loss and that 1 loss dropped me 24 lp. My wins got me 14 lp. How am I supposed to gain rank if the games I do win only count for about half of the games I lose. I feel like my entire day has been wasted. Sitting at 46 LP from 11 lp and basically 3 wins. That averages out to be about 12 lp a win. How does that seem even remotely ok?

How much LP you gain or lose depends on two factors, MMR, and your rank and those are affected by your W/L ratio.

If you are winning a lot and have a higher W/L ratio, you will gain more LP because it is the system trying to configure you to a spot it thinks you deserve, to be better matched with players of your skill level, in turn, the exact opposite is true as your W/L ratio goes into negatives.

Right now, your MMR is about 1300 and your current W/L ratio is below 1:1 with you have about ten more losses then wins so the system is going to drop you down believing you are a lower rank to match along with your MMR.

All an all, all you have to do to fix your LP gains, is get back into a positive W/L ratio, and maintain it. In theory, as long as you maintained even a 51% win rate in ranked, you could, once again, in theory, make it to Challenger.
