Rakan needs buff to his early game

Even though on paper his kit seems strong ( probably even overloaded ). in practice he isn't working as intended based on his winrate ( 45-46 % ) and other statistics.

He is one of the hardest support to lane with for the following reasons:

-Short ranged and squishy

  • long cooldowns and fairly high mana costs
  • no damage at all, so unless your ADC is good in early game, your lane won't have any kill potential
  • that Q is still hard to land, especially on ranged supports -he has a lot of hard counters while he is a counter to none

I think with some small buffs he would be a viable pick, but for now he feels weak and I have no reason to pick him over champs like Karma/Lulu/Janna, who can do what he does except better.

I've actually found one support that he can counter. One, single, support. Maokai. Rakan's mobility will ruin his day, deny him anything he could do with his saplings, his shield will completely block out all damage from the saplings and then you can W away from your carry so you don't take damage. It's not necessarily optimal, but he is a very good counter to the dreaded Maokai support of all things.

listen you fool win rate doesn't mean everything to a champion if riot decides to buff rakan that would make the already strong mid rakan completely broken then his ap ratios would be gutted forcing him to only be a support

i think what makes rakan so hard as a champion is that his earlygame stages is too delayed. his knockup takes, with dash and animation together, 1,5 seconds to cast. that is way too long, and only slowed champions or champs that stand still for any reason whatsoever or champions you can literally hop onto so they are in the very center of the hitbox can be knocked up, anyone else can simply walk away, and as if that does not serve enough, he does not have the efficient Tools to carry anyone pre-6, his cc powerspike depends too hard on his lvl6, and as if THAT is not bad enough too, he literally Needs to bump into his teammates to proc his healing, the trigger range when it charges are way too small, sometimes you stand legit next to the adc and the heal still doesn't proc because you are JUST A LITTLE too far away.

my best guess is don't buff his scalings or numbers, buff his ranges and animations. make the healing proc range and activation range bigger for, idk, 50 Units (half an meele AA) bigger and make the jump animation for his knock up faster so that ppl don't permanently dodge it even when slowed just by sidestepping early enough.

what rakan's Problem is is that he can be countered too hard, his dashes are ALL canceable through hard cc, you can peel him to deny his adc any healings and shields and if you zone him he will Need to dive too deep to use his R and end up dead before his team can even follow, rakan as of right now is really and i mean REALLY only a show and really only gets useful when massively ahead as a support or if he, as the support, can get his team to peel him so he peels them (which not only shouldnt happen but also shouldnt make sense to begin with)

His main problem is his auto attack, and I'm angry at Riot for being deceitful in giving it to him. They pulled a bullshit Thresh mechanic where they disapproved of him buying Face of The Mountain and being tanky along with being able to provide an additional shield, especially to Xayah. So, they made his auto -slightly- ranged, just so he can't get the auto-execute damage easily. It's terrible design, and Riot should be ashamed of that type of crutch. No reason it needs to be ranged, his fucking wing isn't a thematic reason, just a straw-grasping excuse. All he needed was a melee auto attack and he would simply be amazing. But, Riot cheated him out of a great build path because "Lol, you can't build this reasonably because we say so."
