Why can't mages have an item that helps them get through shields?

It is nigh impossible for most AP casters to burst through several layers of lategame shields ( looking mainly at the ivern + Lulu/Janna/Karma etc combos ).

Rito should add an item that ignores a certain percentage of shields when using abilities. Thoughts?

Better idea, just nerf the shields?

The whole point of temporary shields is to counter burst, to give them a way to directly stop shields defeats the whole purpose.

item 3136 1500 +item 3145 1050g+ 450g

hexteck Guise 3000g cost eyes of pain unique- passive 15 magic pen 80 ap 300 hp eyes of death-on use effect, 40 second CD for the next 4 seconds if you cast a spell on a shielded target and it breaks the shield they will take 10Xlvl +.5 ap true damage, this effect ends after it deals its damage (cant use it and break multiple shields for stupid levels of true damage)

edit:this is a hexteck item and shares their CDs

Can understand that its hard to kill adc's if they have a shield comp, say.. Ivern and Karma or something along those lines, which can be lame and could be nice to have some way of nullifying their shield or what ever. But I don't think mages should be given more damage vs tanks with shields, a mages role (normally) isn't to bust tanks.
