So how can I play PvP without pissing someone off?

Let's face it, I mostly play PvE to farm IP. For an change of pace, I played PvP and I wound up irritating nearly everyone because I can't deal with an mirror match, I like to roam the map , and I also like to run from teamfights instead of dying in them. So what's the "safe" way of laying League of Legends, because PvE doesn't really teach you anything, other than to push the turrets.
