What top brings more utility or effectiveness to a team than Poppy or Malphite?

I'd say maokai is a pretty solid bet.

Lulu and Zilean are both awesome choices.

Both are niche. Malph does phenomenally against teams that are mostly or all AD. Poppy has to wait until pretty late into the game to really become a threat and be able to carry any.

Jarvan IV is very good. He is ridiculously easy to last hit and trade with due to his passive and his team fight potential is virtually unparalleled. He is also very difficult to gank or tower dive.

Jayce brings poke, a powerful burst damage combo, peel for your carry, a speed boost for your team, and lots of damage to towers with his W.
