Bronze ranked is hell.

I always get the teammates who are constantly fighting with each other instead of the opponent's or end up feeding their lane opponent, because our jg was helping bot lane in a 2v4, please tell me there's SOME WAY to get outta bronze without a full premade team, two of my friends quit because my younger sibling got up to Platinum this season and they got only up to silver 3 so far so...... full premade's not an option.

Taking a quick look at your match history, you seem to have a good win-rate with Veigar, Nasus and Warwick. If you find you are consistently doing well with a champion, I'd recommend sticking with them. You are clearly doing something correctly with them, they suit your play-style and/or they provide qualities which work well in your current ELO.

Nasus, Warwick and Veigar are relatively simple champions who scale very well as the game progresses. In addition, they all have potent and reliable CC for locking down or crippling targets.

I do have some general tips written up. I'm not sure how applicable they are to you personally, but they might help a little bit.

[1] I would highly recommend narrowing your selection down to two roles. This will let you get a better handle on the general mechanics of that role at all stages of a game.

[2] I would recommend you focus on ~3 champions per role (for a total of 6). This will let you focus on learning more about that champion's play-style, build paths and role at various points in the game and as the situaiton varies.

[3] I would recommend you play mechanically simple champions. It will let you focus more on learning the fundamentals of the game instead of having to worry about playing your champions optimally.

[4] Prioritize farm. Farming is the most reliable source of gold and experience in the game and it can make you far stronger than you appear to be. This is true on every champion and especially early-game; a difference of 100G can result in you returning to lane with Phage instead of a Ruby Crystal, Long Sword and Boots of Speed.

This is especially important when you realize that ~15 farm is equal to a kill. Take the free gold from minions; killing your lane opponent is often secondary (and much easier when you have an item advantage from better last-hitting.

Just remember that gold you haven't spent does nothing for you. If you are a couple kills ahead of your opponent but are sitting on 2k Gold while they have just bought, they are probably stronger than you are.

[5] When necessary, build defensively. If you want an example, I'd honestly rather a 0/2 Darius with Phage and Sunfire Cape than a 0/5 Darius with Black Cleaver. The early durability helps you survive the laning phase even when you are losing; you can finish your core damage items after when gold is more plentiful and you are less likely to be bullied off of farm.

[6] Learn to control the minion wave. This is especially important in top-lane, where a proper freeze can result in the enemy laner missing several minion waves worth of gold and experience very easily. If you get a lead, use it to deny your opponent; it lets your free-farm and puts them further and further behind.

[7] Learn to farm efficiently. This is especially important when jungling, since you have to keep up in gold and experience while having access to less farm than laners, controlling objectives and (counter-)ganking. If you are playing a jungler who relies on being ahead of their enemies, learn when and how you can take lane-farm without denying your allies.

Several examples of good opportunities to soak farm are:

  • holding the minion wave when your ally is recalled, dead or roaming
  • pushing the wave under the enemy tower after getting a successful kill (then proxying the next wave if safe to do so)
  • split-pushing or wave-clearing during the mid- and late-game.

[8] Know when you can trade with your opponent. While this is often up to experience, you have to watch for when your opponent wastes a cooldown (either because they used it to farm, missed it, just used it to trade, or you baited it out) and take advantage of its CD window.

Know when you have an advantage in (living) minions. Those little guys really hurt early-game.

Know roughly when champions hit major power-spikes and try to take advantage of yours while avoiding theirs.

[9] Play for objectives, not kills. The goal of this game is killing the enemy nexus with everything else being secondary. Rather than chasing for risky kills after winning a fight, take what objectives you can safely.

I play these champs,

At top:

Akali, Renekton and Vlad

at mid:

Ahri, Veigar, and Vel'koz

all super simple.

Also those champions are not super simple. Ahri is a skill based champion and viegar is easily countered. I actually stopped playing viegar mid because I was getting countered too much.

Renekton is also not simple, no idea about Vladimir since the rework. You need to learn a champion with a really low skill cap.

I would learn Morgana, Lux, or Talon mid and probably Garen, Chogath, and Jax top. This guy also Tryndamere .

Glîtchy1 votes

Here's why I don't play these,

Morg, Lux and Garen, boring, boring and boring.

Tryndamere, I see Jax too much for him to work well.

Garen: Deathly boring

Talon, he's not easy for me to play.

Cho'Gath, 3 words, Saran worshipping Vayne.

Well I am out of low skill cap champions that could probably work in low Elo and are successful. That's why you probably consider them boring. I would have recommended Nasus, but you have to learn to just farm really well under tower and not engage until you are strong. I think Tryndamere could be fun if you like playing aggressive and he can hard carry in low Elo.

You are in Bronze, you probably make a lot of mistakes, the champions I provided are forgiving to players that make mistakes and are very easy to play/CS with AND can escape and be self-reliant. By getting even OK with those champions you will probably climb out of bronze.

I would not keep playing Renekton in Bronze. That champion drops-off super hard and he is a high skill cap champion. You could play wukong but then you become dependent on the team.

Talon is easy to play. Farm until level 6 and then all-in. Only engage when your ultimate is up and you shouldn't be the lead engage when your ultimate is up.

Well I like at least some form of challenge, and my idea of a challenge isn't playing Garen into Akali, I mean his true damage is bullshit.

OK...well I am primarily offering you suggestions to make winning easier. To make winning easier you need to play:

  • Low skill cap champions
  • Forgiving champions
  • Champions that are self-reliant - not team oriented
  • Champions that can solo-carry- meaning they scale really well
  • Champions that are easy to farm with

I think by playing Akali and Veigar you are not only playing tough champions, you are playing champions that are easily countered and are ineffective if they do not farm well/get behind. Veigar can come back in the late late game.

I really think right now every player in low Elo should just be learning Jax, Nasus, and Tryndamere top.

Or Talon, Morgana Chogath Lux mid.

I am trying to think of other mid-laners that are forgiving, but in general if you screw up in the mid lane you are very behind and will probably lose the lane. Anivia is also very strong, she is forgiving with her egg as well. But I have no idea if she is hard to play.

Whenever I try to play Nasus, there's always some stupid juggernaut or all the opponents invade me, also I don't know how to play Talon.

I am a Nasus main. Just ban darius if you don't want to deal with it and just earn to farm under tower. Literally just farm for 20 minutes then kill people. That's it. You could probably kill your laner after returning with sheen and some defensive or health cdr items at about 12 minutes.

Oh and NEVER cross the river. Ever until you are strong. Forget your team, forget you laner, just farm for 20 minutes and then show up.

You should try talon. If you like Akali, talon IMO is a safer and BETTER version of her.

I play Nasus, Lv.5 with him, and Lv.6 with Ahri. I would play Nasus top more but but no one ever agrees to ban Teemo who hardcore counters Nasus.

Also I have no idea how the hell Talon works. All I know is get duskblade.

Just look up builds on Talon. Talon is pretty much like Zed, but with mana so my guess would be he builds very similarly. Also, try to trade Nasus with a teammate to get him at a later pick. You don't need to ban teemo, there are other champions that counter Nasus that I would rather ban (darius, fiora, pantheon).

Teemo is pretty easy too, max spirit fire and start a doran's ring. You won't have stacks but you will have CS and he will probably be missing a lot from backing all the time. If he is running ignite definitely max spirit fire, because he can't use TP to come back to lane.

You just have to learn to play around teemo and most teemo players are pretty bad with him. They only pick him to counter specific champions and probably don't play him a lot.

I tried that whole AP trick, doesn't work, as the spirit fire does next to nothing and I'm too squishy to sustain long enough to kill him.

It does work. I do it all the time against good teemos (you don't even need to do it against the bad ones). You aren't trying to kill him, you are just trying to stay in lane, CS, and make him back. You are suppose to zone him with the spirit fire. You cast the spirit fire in front of you creating an area between you and the minions so you can Q one. Your stacks will be shitty but you will have CS and then you can stack later. Don't chase or try to kill teemo early at all, your probably aren't good enough with Nasus to make that type of play.

Also you should not play Nasus with the attitude "I am going to kill my lane opponent." You should only be playing with the attitude "I need to survive early harass so that I can farm." That's it. The inability to ban Teemo alone should not be dictating your choice of not playing Nasus.

You shouldn't try to trade, spam your abilities, or an early all-in. Your job is to just sustain through the damage and farm, whether that is under tower or in the middle of the lane.

2 of your friends quit because your younger brother got to plat what kind of reason is that to quit a game?

Glîtchy1 votes

I asked them the same thing, they said, "Because he only got past us using no skill/op champions."

Seriously....please explain where Gnar, Orianna, and Taliyah are op.

"Because he only got past us using no skill/op champions."

I always find it funny when people use that excuse. If playing "no-skill" champions was all you needed to climb to Platinum, then they really have no excuse to still be in Silver.

There is significantly more to the game than the complexity and skill-cap of the champion you play. This game relies on knowledge, decision-making, objective control, map awareness, positioning and many, many other factors.

Glîtchy1 votes

Exactly, and yet one of them's a Riven main. I smell bullshit in their words.

EmEx1 votes

They are not no skill champs and maybe Taliyah is op after her buffs not sure.

Demon King Maou1 votes

I bet your sibling taunts you all the time then LMAO

Glîtchy1 votes

Actually no, he just constantly tells them "rank doesn't matter" but yet the other 2 keep claiming how he climbed with only "op" champs when all my sibling played was Orianna, Gnar and Taliyah.

Zephyrous X1 votes

bronze is the same as silver nothing every changes and if you stay in bronze you probably belong there i got out of bronze in like a week lol.

Glîtchy1 votes

This is my first season in ranked, also I keep ending up against, Garen and Renekton whenever I play Akali top.

Yasuo and Fizz whenever I play Ahri or Veigar.

in all honesty it's frickin' annoying always being counter picked.

EDIT: Also for saying that part how I "belong in bronze", screw you.

If you can't get out of bronze you kind of belong in there until you get better that's the way the game works lol

Glîtchy1 votes

And you really have problems to just be insulting people for no reason, "you belong in bronze if you're stuck there"? c'mon buddy, don't be a dick.

Odd Gnome1 votes

By the sound of it you're playing easily countered champs. Easy champions are always the way to go. Everyone can pretend like the high skill champions are super easy to use and OP and all that but in reality taking Garen Top and Annie Mid are sometimes the way to go. As for your teammates talking shit, just don't talk in game unless you are directly spoken to nicely. It's pointless to get involved. Focus on your game and help your team when you can.

Glîtchy1 votes

They're boring as fuck.

Odd Gnome1 votes

Sometimes to climb you need to play boring champions. Or you can keep playing champions that can be easily countered and not climb at all. Your choice.

So in ranked, you can't have fun while winning? doesn't it seem a bit boring playing a champ you find boring vs. a champ you find fun?

vladerag1 votes

I managed to get out of bronze today... so its possible.

Tourian1 votes

But bronze is literally the most fun you will ever have in ranked. You can pick whatever the fuck you want and build whatever the fuck you want and still win the game by a landslide.

Swiftstrike41 votes

Gnar and Orianna are incredibly high skill-cap champions...You complain on these forums a lot. It is easy to get out of Bronze.

Stay out of the bottom lane. Don't talk with teammates unless it is to communicate an objective. Play mid or top. CS well and learn how to farm under tower. Don't chase kllls. If you kill someone try to take an objective.

You can't stop the bottom lane from feeding unless you want to play learn support.

I would also learn a champion that requires little to no teamwork, is a carry, and has an escape. I would not continue to play Akali top. Learn Jax he is way better and less team dependent.

Glîtchy1 votes

I never said Gnar or Orianna are low skill cap, to say they're no skill is retarded.

Communist Toast1 votes

I climbed out of bronze a few times. there is hope

Swiftstrike41 votes

I think Nasus if fantastic at low Elo. Players don't know how to deal with him. He teaches players mechanics for farming AND he is a splitpusher hyper-carry.

BakedLotion1 votes

Play tryndamere. Get decent CS. Stay top all game and tell your team to fuck off whenever they see someone. Push towers. Win. Bronze people can't deal with splitpushing

EmEx1 votes

If you are in Bronze and your bro is in plat then get some advice from him, why not?!

Glîtchy1 votes

He only says to play a champ you like, which is what I've been doing, but everyone in bronze is just going Garen, Darius, Katarina or Riven and all those 4 are bullshit champs, at least give Garen energy I mean c'mon his kit is stupid as fuck.
