New supports

It seems like anything with good base damage and some sort of CC can go support these days. Annie Brand got sent to support a few seasons ago, and now we add Trundle Nautilus . Basically if it can hurt and lock someone down it can go to support. Of course, if something is item dependent then you really don't want it to support.( Riven ) Is it only a matter of time before any tank that is too weak to go to its original role will end up in support? Amumu Eventually?

Amumu is strong in the jungle, but you can take him support occasionally, specifically for Miss Fortune because your level 6 is amazing. Nautilus has been nerfed in the jungle to the point where his CC makes much more sense as a support. Trundle is a Troll King.

generally supports show their presence early on to guard&feed their adc. That's why amumu support can be challenging since he's just standing there taking pokes without doing anything to help if opponents stand behind their minions. Not saying it wont work. It would be fabulous if u know when to land your stun and coordinate well, just that it's challenging to trade blows evenly early on.

There's Damage, Tanks, and Utility Supports. That's why.

Only good damage supports are annie, brand, vel, zyra though

Most Tanks and some bruisers(go who tank) can support really well. Just gotta make sure they have innate tankiness instead of item reliance for their tankiness.

and utility supports who actually heavily build team bonus items.
