Reminder that it's almost impossible to beat Cho in lane

ChickenWrap··1 votes·1,484 views

His super silence W harass and insane sustain from his passive is bad enough, but he has a 1:1 AP ratio on his Q, a 70% ratio on his W, a 30% ratio on his E which also applies Rylai's and Liandry's to his auto-attacks, and his ultimate transforms 70% of his AP into true damage

But for some reason, people seem to think he's balanced because he's not as mobile as other champions when it's almost impossible to fight him 1v1 and when he hits you with a Rupture from far away, sure he has to run up to you and the CC may have ended by then, but his team sure made it to you a lot faster than he did and they killed you. Bonus points if Cho silences you for 2+ seconds after landing the rupture. Good luck getting out of that.

heres an idea. : if you cant fight someone 1v1; get help if you see a BIG RED CIRCLE SUDDENLY APPEAR OUT OF NO WHERE MAYBE ITS A GOOD IDEA NOT TO STEP ON IT

I bet you complain about pantheon too, because it abuses your uncontrollable attraction to stepping in big red circles

That feel when you're being called out for being bad by someone who's not even Bronze. Don't talk about balance like you have any idea about what's going on. You're sitting there abusing Xerath and I bet you think he's the pinnacle of balance, don't you?

I don't play xerath either and I haven't seen any one else do it? honoustly if you fail to understand the need to avoid cho gaths Q and then complain that it "hurts too much" then you obviously should be playing with level 15's or less because you need to retrain yourself at this game.

maybe you should be worried that an unranked player actually has more logical understanding of this game than you do.

Maybe you should hop on your main then and tell me all about how dumb I am.

Show me how smart you are. Until then, nothing you say to me holds any merit whatsoever. I've been playing this game probably longer than you've known it's existed for. Trust me when I tell you that Cho'Gath is broken and that I personally know people who have hit High Diamond/Masters playing only Cho, y'know, as a testament to me thinking he's so crazy powerful.

Because they're good players maybe? Cho is only good against certain champs, and right now, the meta is filled with champs he's not good against. High mobility high range with an extra helping of CC (making the whole point of picking Cho for his CC rather worthless). I've been playing Cho a lot lately and his late game is making me cry. I either stomp my lane and then go end the game early or late game comes around and suddenly the only thing I'm good for is being a meatshield and peeling.

If years of Raiding in MMO's has taught me anything its that telling scrubs to "Avoid Red Circle Advice" is going to have zero effect on their ability to actually do so.

As far as I know, he isnt picked a lot. He can be pushed out of lane with some well-timed pokes. Going all in on him early is the best way to fight him, as he has low damage and hasn't gotten ult or RoA yet. Tank laners can just survive and be of more help to the team later. (Malphite, Sejuani, Amumu, etc.) If he goes full AP, he dies quickly no matter how many stacks he has. Just dont focus him, keep away from him when low, and dodge his Q. Its simple to do so.

Source: Cho is one of my top 3.

You assume the Cho'Gath is a bad player and doesn't know how to press Q.

You now what I do sometimes? Flash over a wall, press W, and then press R and receive a free kill. Other times I wait for team fights to start in enclosed spaces and press Q and then W, removing most of the enemy team's health bar and preventing them from fighting my team back.

Other times I just press Q, catch someone, and watch my team rip them to bits.

Other times I'm Braum and I wait for a team fight to start in enclosed spaces, then hit R and E and let my teammates pick up the kills while preventing the enemy from fighting back.

None of these champions really beat Cho'Gath. The only ones that come close are Nasus and Vayne and Cho can 100-0 Vayne by landing one Q and AP Cho can just eat Nasus from 800 health before he even thinks about ulting if he held on to it.

Leti the Yeti1 votes

lets not discuss hypothetical situations nothing ever works out perfectly

Vayne can simply dodge every single Q cho throws out and kill cho with silver bolts - .-

again nothing ever works out perfectly

meanwhile Nasus could just farm safely as Cho burns out all his mp trying to shove him out

again nothing ever works out perfectly

in actual application, anything could happen and eithe vayne/nasus or cho could lose

Cho presses W. Vayne can't tumble. Cho presses Q. ALternatively, he just eats her because that'll kill her too.

Meanwhile, every CS Cho gets makes him healthy and gives him plenty of mana back to happily harass Nasus all he wants.

You've obviously never played Cho. Cho gets denied straight from level 1 vs Vayne and even on the off-chance your jungler camps for you you're still going to get shit on when the jungler isn't there unless you flash on top of Vayne and manage to get your full combo off because otherwise she's got tumble, condemn, and cho's biggest counter... boots!

And Nasus? Nasus buys a spirit visage and never gets harassed out of lane again. EDIT: I mean the 1200 G item that builds into spirit visage. Spirit visage just makes him even more comfortable tower diving you.

oh yeah and if boots aren't bad enough, nasus can also just W cho and walk out haha

alright, lets assume everything is working out perfectly cuz thats how you make it seem Vayne tumbles out of your silence dodges all your Qs and kites you all day so you can never eat her killing you with percent health and true damage gg get rekt nuub learn2uninstall

silly isnt it?

so what's Cho gonna do now?

The cone has a pretty long range. She's not tumbling out of that. Once she's silenced, she can't dodge the Q.

Or you could just nom her after landing the W for a free kill.

Tier 2 boots + dragon movespeed boost = rupture is impossible to hit against someone with low ping and decent reaction time, because they can simply walk out of it... Did I mention I hate the new dragon buffs?

And if this is early game in lane, Vayne simply has to walk away and then use condemn as soon as the silence wears off so that Cho can't get his ult off.

Leti the Yeti3 votes

she cant do what? who said she cant? why on earth can this vayne NOT dodge Q why is the imperfect vayne suddenly up against the cho with the perfect aim? I recall being able to get out of Q's hit box just by moving, even doable without boots

the distance between cho and vayne should be more than enough to give obvious signs as t when to tumble out of silence range also its a cone so it narrows... simply tumble forward diagonally vindictus style to your left n right and condemn that dinosaur to a wall #lcsbigplays

is it absurd yet?

What kind of stupid Nasus doesn't ult in a fight?

Most of those champions, especially Teemo and Vayne, and to a slightly lesser degree Morde and Vlad, shit all over Cho in lane and only get better at killing or denying him as the game goes on. You're forgetting Cho is melee and has serious mana issues for most of the early game.

He has pretty long cooldowns on two skill shots and his auto attack steroid isn't THAT good. Also he literally can't dodge anything. Skill shots that wouldn't have even been close to landing on a normal champ will easily hit the gigantic slow-moving void dinosaur.

Yes, he is extremely oppressive if you just try to fight him over and over without any tankiness/sustain or trying to dodge anything. But that is also a really dumb way to play.

He doesn't need to dodge anything. he has 4000 health, 300 armour, 200 MR, and 500 AP. He's like Singed. He doesn't give a single shit while he walks up to your team and wrecks their face.

But for some reason, people seem to think he's balanced because he's not as mobile as other champions

He's not any synonym for mobile either, he lacks significant agility and speed in every sense.

Cho'Gath is the epitome of looking amazing on paper, and then being pretty average in practice. Most melee champions feel like they pack a greater punch than ranged champions specifically because their QWER has a very slick combo time that can be pulled off in the blink of an eye. Jax can combo Empower and Leap in 1 swift motion, and then hit you with Grandmaster and Sheen in the next - utalizing Counterstrike and item actives like Kingblade, Hydra, or Gunblade in the brief time-frame between landing on you and immediately AAing you in the face. Even champions with long, drawn-out combos like Yasou, Kat, and Riven just seem fast when performing them due to the limited time cost of pulling off each move.

Not Cho. He goes huuuuuuuuuuugggggggggghhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh sllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmm for all of his skills. Dragonball Z status all the way. Sure they feel ridiculously satisfying when he lands them do to the massive on-paper power they all have, but every time I get him in ARAM I just get really sad his ult takes like, 2 seconds to cast on top of it's limited range.

The ult that takes .2 seconds to cast, you mean? The one that grows in range as Cho grows in geight?

Cho'Gath has been extremely powerful for a very long time and his "lack of mobility" doesn't matter one bit right now, especially because the Assassin meta is waning out in midlane and people are moving back over to sustain damage mages with poke and waveclear, even if they don't realize they're doing it yet.

Oddysseas1 votes

Singed can counter him in lane as he never has to actually fight him.

Jax can kill him early game.

Vayne can dodge his knockup and her w can bring him down easy.

Vlad can farm against him while being fairly safe.

Sivir can use her spell shield to counter the knock up too while refunding mana for free.

Nasus can farm enough to destroy him in lategame.

Item wise since he is a tanky mofo get a last whisper and some armor pen.

There are even more champs to counter him with just mentioned a few.

I have a hard time beating a good cho in lane also but things can be worse than that, imagine facing garen lol.

Boom. It's final. I'm right, completely. He was picked in competitive because they also know how crazy broken powerful he is.

Also no, I've been complaining about Cho and being told I'm a retard for it for the past few years now.
