@Riot: High ban rates are a sign that OP champions need fixes.
My only question is. Why in the hell are they allowed to remain in their current state when these champions are clearly OP. Champs like Yasuo and Zac have issues that break the game and forces people to waste a ban slot just to keep them of their asses. they are any players wet dream if they are on your side, their worse nightmare if they are on the enemy team. But when you got champions that have a clear advantage in terms of overall power. You have a champion that doesn't have weaknesses that can be punished or abused. Like Kiting or squishiness because their are either A) Uber generalists. B) Are so OP that they can cover up their weakness or C) have additional power in an area that they should have (Zac having damage and Fiora having Utility).
When you got champs with this much power you clearly have a balance issue, bans are being used to keep OP champs out but not to eliminate a potential counter to a team comp. Meaning that you end up having to waste bans to keep them out of the game but you also run into a mortons fork scenario: You either ban all the OP champs or you deal with the champs that can counter your team. Either way it can screw up the game if you are in the deep end against an OP team that hard counters your own.
