Why is ezreal so popular lately?

He's always popular since he's easy to pick up and pretty fun to play with 3 skillshots and a strong mobility skill. He doesn't use lethality very well, but his kit allows him to generally stay outside of lethality ADC range and he's safe. Maybe thats why?

Well I always hate on these "fun" champions which are in reality cancer and often broken so they have large popularity ( , , etc. ) but is actually fun to play because he is easy to pick up, has extremely high skill ceiling because of all 4 skillshot abilites, is safe, has mobility (pretty much the main thing) and I play him because he is balanced and I dont feel like enemy will want to hang himself when he sees me as his lane opponent.

He's a safe pick in a towerdive meta.
