Jhin's Dancing Gernade Question?

I have a question about Jhin's gernade that is something that I know it bothers me but wanted to see what others thought. Why does his gernade not travel in a linear fashion? What I mean is if you shoot it in the middle of a minion wave hoping for it to bounce backwards toward the enemy why does it sometimes bounce forward and hit minions in front of the original minion you casted it on. Is it something that I am aming incorrectly do it bounces that why or what is the deal with that? A small quality if life thing that I think would be a good fix for that. My opinion.
