attack move?

i've been watching a lot of videos on adc stuff recently so i can practice my worst role

one thing i've seen a lot of people mention is the attack move thing, and the setting that lets you only target enemy champions when you hold down a certain button, so if you're trying to tower dive you don't accidentally aa the enemy turret and let the kill slip away (done that)

can someone explain these in depth? i don't really understand how the attack move works.

  1. does it always prioritize champions?
  2. how does it know what i want to basic attack
  3. when should i be using it?
  4. should i learn to use it on all champs, not just adcs?
  5. if i have a minion wave in front of me will it last hit?

sorry for all the questions but i think this is something everyone knew about but me

  1. No it will either prioritize the nearest enemy to you or where your cursor is if you change it. However you can hotkey it to target enemy champions only.
  2. Answer is in 1
  3. Really should be using it all the time.
  4. Yeah, it allows easier time to orb walk.
  5. It will not last hit for you. But if you target the minion for the last hit it will work.

thanks for answering my questions but i'm not really seeing the advantages. i'm already pretty good at orb walking because i've been playing league for 4 years without using the attack move thing, should i switch and learn to use it?

I guess it all depends. I think that attack move is more accurate if used correctly.
