Season 8 is better than Season 7 and the game isnt at a low point atm. Some things could be better like towers, gulf between top tier and trash etc but i think rants about at the game being terrible in particualar atm are wrong.
Season 7 was bad and a lot of whats wrong with S8 started or was introduced S7. I thought League of lethality was really bad before they came out with the Ardent Censor meta. Have people forgot how bad S7 was?

Jarring1 votesI didn't play much of season 7.. I pretty much quit the game when they nerfed my 2 mains into the ground. ekko top and lb mid. I really enjoyed season 6 though when they were still around. I love that they reverted LB, but ekko still can't tank, whereas we have 2 other cancerous top/jgs in his place.(irelia/camille) I personally don't find irelia or camille all that fun to play, so I don't really see myself maining them. And it's hard for me to get back into ekko because it's been so long since I played him mid...and i'd just assume play LB instead.
Tomoe Gozen1 votesEkko top was never a meta thing, unless you're talking about that half-assed Tankko builds. Fiora also used those, where bruiser items were actually packed with damage and a lot of HP, making them straightforwardly better than just building defensively. If you had your enemy having to go through a lot of your HP, you're always ensuring that the fights lasted long enough for you to be able to either wear them down to grab a kill or spend almost all of their resources while you can leisurely walk it off to base, not spending a lot of effort to back off and TP back in.
Not a great time for LoL, to honest. Yi was also a benefactor of such builds since he was all but unstoppable without any hard CC. And he couldn't be bursted fast enough with such builds unless there were few people on his ass.
Jarring1 voteshuh? you weren't around for the massive amount of complaints tank ekko got in 2016? all you'd need was sunfire, iceborn gauntlet and spirit visage and the game was over. he was played in pro games consistently the same way as well; tank top.
Tomoe Gozen1 votesI was around for that. Fiora and Yi were having similar builds, going into HP and then some damage on the side, usually from bruiser items. I don't call what i see in pro play "meta" because pros will always abuse a tactic/champion/new build if they end up playing on that patch. Pro play usually always lags behind our patches and that's why Riot tends to go easy on the changes to the game when that time comes so that they don't introduce a lot of instability.

Everyone having this much damage in season 7 wouldve made an ardent censer obsolete.
