sure as fuck doesn't seem like it on paper sure. When he criting me every auto attack and knocking me up at the same time

Woah buddy, you seem a bit infuriated. As someone who has had anger management issues (and still kinda does) I'd advise that you try and calm yourself down before making an argument. Trust me, attitude helps a lot.

Yasuo is annoying to fight, I won't go against that.

And 75% if it's on his Q instead of his basic attacks.

Doesn't his crits only deal 90%?

90% of the normal damage. So if it is a standard crit (200%), he deals 180%. If he has Infinity Edge (250%) he deals 225%. If he has IE and full crit damage tunes (304%) he deals ~275%.

I think the crit damage modifier is additive, not multiplicative. So with IE, his crits would do 240%.

I'm pretty sure it's multiplicative. Can't check lol wiki right now though.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

It is multiplicative.

EndlessSorcerer2 votes

It's multiplicative.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Yasuo

The damage reduction applies to the total damage dealt (before damage mitigation). A standard critical strike's 200% damage is reduced to 180%, and a critical strike with Infinity Edge deals 225% damage instead of 250%. The reduction is not a subtraction to his critical strike damage statistic.

Crit damage caps at 250% once you have IE. Can't be higher.

Basic attacks only deal 90% (so 180% damage) and Q only deals 75% (150% damage). This can be reduced by Randuin's to 80% (160% damage) and 65% (130% damage). With the mastery and Randuin's, this is reduced to 70% (140% damage) and 55% (110% damage).

And what buff would you suggest to compensate him for taking away his ability to get a lot of crit chance?

a slight buff to the shield would be sufficient to make bruiser yasuo totally viable.

He doesn't need one. He's supposed to be high skill, yet simply playing against a mid-laner worse than you can make you carry the game.

You are supposed to not being biased when talking about balance issue.

Also if you are worse than your enemy you should lose, end of the story.

I meant that I was pretty much worse than everyone else on their team, and won due to stats. And that's without specific runes. Outplaying your opponent? Well, that's nice. I spammed Q a little more than him, and got some lucky ults off. ... pretty much it.

Of all of the things to complain about on him, this is not one.

He deals 90% reduced critical damage on his normal attack and 25% less on his Q. At best you could say his Q is like a damage steroid, but that 25% damage reduction more than covers the difference.

There is also a mastery and an item that reduces critical damage taken.

Yasou has a BS kit. But the BS part is not his crit chance.

Asayake 5150glow1 votes

...But the problem is how much crit chance he has with just runes, and where auto's critting is really not expected (lvl 2-3).

Stars Shaper2 votes

So you would whine against a champion that always crits for 1 damage because he always crits? Flawless.

Um, yeah. Assuming you mean 100 when you said 1. When my Q does only does 90. And he also has the 150 damage from Q crits.

Stars Shaper1 votes

No, from your reasoning damage done counts nothing, you just jelly that he crits a lot ignoring that his damage is reduced a lot and can be reduced even more.

It cannot be reduced even more when playing in lvls 1-6 with mid masteries. Do you expect to have the crit damage reduction with mid masteries? And rushing Randuin's does a different, yet just as effective job; it makes you useless. Plus, he does crit a lot. ... that's the whole point! And crits are still a huge bonus. Also known as stronger than a single skill in early levels.

Assuming that Yasuo starts with 50% baseline crit chance hence 100% total crit chance.

Um. So. Yeah. That's my point, right?

Stars Shaper1 votes

Congratz, you proven yourself as ignorant.

Yasuo will have 100% crit chance only with crit chance runes, IE and Phantom Dancer. If he builds statikk he won't reach 100% crit chance.

Now throw your biased and ignorant rear outside of any balance discussion.

Asayake 5150glow1 votes

Assuming that Yasuo starts with 50% baseline crit chance hence 100% total crit chance.

Was not exactly sure what this meant. Thank you for clarifying. My point is not that he has 100% crit chance, it is simply that he has too much crit chance too early. And with 100% crit chance with runes, IE, and Phantom, he's more than twice as strong as any normal AD carry. He has no need for an engage in teamfights, so his range doesn't matter there.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Well I'll try to wide up a bit your view of the matter then. First of all Yasuo will never build Phantom Dancer because he needs Shiv more, hence he won't reach 100% crit chance. Also he can't build life steal early enough compared to other melee carries if he wants to deal damage.

Then take a look at Tryndamere, he can have baseline 35% crit from level 1 not counting masteries, runes nor items plus he has free mobility (no need of available target) AoE soft CC and a more reliable immunity window with his R. He can also build up sustain without losing any important stat.

Then we have Fiora who has a more effective defense/CC with her reflect/riposte skill, 2 free dashes and truedamage. The only weakness is that she uses mana and her invulnerability comes from good reflexes. She also can build lifesteal fast enough.

So, different carries and different strenghts but each one is not over the top because each of them lacks either a strenght which other have or has stronger weakness.

Asayake 5150glow1 votes

Meh. I believe Yas is a little OP due to the fact that 1) he's amazing at trading/poking, 2) he has tons of kill potential without trading or poking first, 3) if he trades/pokes before going all in he doesn't lose any life, and 4) his trade/poke is infinitely spammable. This is coming from someone who just went 22/1 with Yas.

Tryndamere needs to have literally 1% life in order to have that much bonus crit. Won't be very useful then, will it? Except then we have the ult, which keeps him at 1% life. Now if only Yas's bonus crit only lasted for 6 seconds and had a 60 second cooldown. Yas trades a heavy slow for even for stickiness and mobility, so not much there. Free mobility is at least matched by a spammable dash.

Fiora I have not seen enough of, and therefore can't say anything useful. What I can say, is that her Riposte can only block 1 skill (needs confirmation). She has a pretty sticky mix of slows and dashes.

Yas is especially OP when he builds a BT. I'm not sure if Riot made it so that AoE auto's only heal for 30% each target, so hitting 3 people triples the amount healed. Add that to the 84% Crit he does have with a Statik, and he has tons of sustain, more than a Xin or Aatrox.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Honestly Yasuo is really weak when there is a poke laner and I can tell you about that because usually I play mid with Xerath and Vel'koz (even though now I'm focusing on other characters) and Yasuo usually feeds me 1-2 kills before his tower is down.

Tryndamere gets his crit rating from his rage bar, not missing HP: "BATTLE FURY: Tryndamere gains 0.35% critical strike chance per point of Fury he currently has, up to a maximum of 35% critical strike chance." He gets though bonus AD from missing HP from his Q so he has 2 steroids one of which gets his max potential while in ultimate.

Fiora gets bonus damage (% of enemy max hp) and heal when hitting vitals and his riposte blocks all damage and CC for the small window of 0.75 seconds, if riposte blocks an impairing effect the enemy is stunned if hit. Her E grants her 50% attack speed, first attack can't crit while second attack is granted a crit.

Yasuo trades a whole immunity window for having a "Team Tool" but his steroid and mobility aren't superior to his counterparts and can be worse or better depending on the situation. What makes him strong or weak is the ability of him and his enemy to exploit what he can do. His dash direction can be forseen easily and since he isn't untouchable meanwhile he gets defenseless to CCs and attacks in general (even skillshots).

Asayake 5150glow1 votes

Yeah, messed that up for Trynd. Also, completely disregard my examples because they are not above plat tier.

The main difference between Yas and the rest is his Q. I'm actually quite confused about his Q, because it says it only does a little bonus damage (100 more at max rank!) than his autoattack. It always seems a lot stronger. Also, it seems his Q's crits are even weaker, due to his passive affecting them by 25% instead of 10%. So, the main difference is the knock up from his Q, and the range of his Q. As well as combining auto's and Q's. Though his dashes may be predictable, it's not always easy to tell when he'll dash. And the many dashes just makes it harder to aim.

I can't personally say anything, due to being terrible at the game and below Plat.

Stars Shaper1 votes

We are not discussing elo here. If ppl can get some straight facts and understand game mechanics it doesn't matter if they are dia or bronze.

I'd suggest to play a bit of Yasuo yourself. Predicting a dash direction is based on which target is he going to dash through and that can be foretold by knowing the dash range of use and close targets. I played Yasuo since release and that helped me a whole lot understanding what to do against him to a point that unless outskilled by a lot I can make he cry in lane.

kile1472 votes

Actually with the armor rework he has a nice counter now. Build item 3143 and item 3047 you have a base damage reduction of 20% against him that can't be cut through with armor pen. Same works with Ashe.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

If you are a tank, take the Crit Damage Reduction mastery too.

Then laugh.

kile1471 votes

I also realized that every major armor item is also a pretty hard counter to him since he scales with AS (item 3110), he does all of his damage with autos (item 3075), and he builds a lot of crit (item 3143).

Stars Shaper1 votes

Like doesn't his Q already have a 25% crit damage reduction and all his other crits a 10% damage reduction. Like there isn't an item to reduce crit damage of another 10%. Like Yasuo isn't allowed to have a steroid being the AD melee carry he is (steroid that forces him not to build sustain).

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

There is an item that reduces crit damage by 10%, and then there's also an item that reduces basic attack damage by 10%. A normal champ's crit would deal 81%; Yasuo's crits would either deal 73% or 61%, depending on if he's using his Q or a basic attack.

200% Crit Damage becomes 122-146% damage; 250% Crit Damage becomes 152-182% damage.

Throw in the mastery and...another 10% reduction to Crit Damage sends the numbers to 55-66% for Yasuo, meaning that, without IE, he crits for 109-131%, and with it, for 137-164%.

Tanks and bruisers are easily capable of reducing Yasuo's Crits significantly, and everyone else can grab Ninja Tabi if it bothers them so much. The best part is that Yasuo's Armor Pen only affects half of bonus Armor, and it has no effect on %DR whatsoever.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Exactly what I'm saying. Most of Yasuo whiners don't even know what he does and yet feel the urge to come on boards spouting sentences.

Also, when they get proven wrong they ignore it and let the thread die to open a new one few days after.
