Looking back at Kalista
When Kalista came out and I was still probably a bronzer, I liked to play her a lot.
Now that I'm somewhere in silver, but frequently play with my gold friends, I'm noticing that the nerf to Kalista some time ago was completely idiotic. Her winrate sits below 48% until you get to Diamond.
I personally maintain that there's just no point playing Kalista outside of Platinum+ because you're completely unable to utilize her kit to its full potential because she's so complicated, arguably if not more complicated than Draven as for how much mechanical prowess you need. It's not just how GOOD you are with Kalista, but how good you are at the game.
I don't play Kalista anymore because her autoattacks are rather complicated and also irregular. But you're basically asking for a terrible laning phase if you want to play her now.
I'm not sure why Riot nerfed her to require your support to be near you but it's just absolutely idiotic. Considering that her winrate is 42% or below in most elos (until Diamond), I think, it just baffles me how this has been forgotten about. This is potentially the dumbest nerf considering that only Yorick only beats her out at the moment, winrate-wise. Picking kalista is basically equivalent to asking to have the enemy laners sit on you in lane.
Just curious if anyone else shares the opinion that the last nerf to Kalista was just absolutely idiotic and has turned her into someone who's just unplayable, not even for fun. There's nothing wrong with playing a champ for fun, and Kalista is definitely one, but she's poor enough to the point that not only is it difficult for at least 70% of league players to handle her mechanics properly, which is why I've realized I shouldn't play Kalista and basically not feed yourself in lane. At that point there's no reason to decide to nerf her for any reason.
