What's the point of using Azir E now?

So Azir knock up and shield is gone but we can just dash to the enemy....Right in their face in a team fight....

Azir should at least have his shield because I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to use Q,E to use a Ult where the enemy can just walk behind you or just get damage off you before the animation even finish. The reason Azir Ult combo worked was because they were knock up a little so he can use his Ult with out getting punish.

Also Riot has to know that people who use Azir are not these LCS players who can combo like TSM so I really don't get why you even took both his shield and knock up out, at least keep one of them.

Using E is not that easy as people think, his Q is easy but if you use E without knowing how to and practising his Q/E combo fast then you can't do the combo and risk being deep on the enemy side.

Chances of using Q then E just 0.5 sec after would be to late to even land the damage or even touch them..

I seriously see no point of using Azir E other then running away like a Gold chicken, I hope Riot looks at this because this is HELL of a game changer to Azir E and Ult.
I'm going to miss Azir since I use Azir A LOT.

I understand but dear hell E cooldown is still 19 at level 1 like wtf. Zed/Leblec get to dash or transport with a cooldown so low while Azir E is still 19 sec at level 1. Also remember Azir W takes like 1 sec to even summon or respond to his command so if you are 4/3 bars down chances are you won't be able to summon then dash in time to even get away.

what do you mean "with a cooldown so low"? can you explain?

living shadow and distortion are both 18 sec cd at rank 1.

O my bad but they have damage and when they use their ability they can automatic use it unlike summoning a solider which takes like 1 or 0.5 sec

They both suck in teamfights while Azir is the Best teamfighting mage. Normally being so good at teamfighting has a drawback like no mobility. Nope, doesn't count for Azir.

....I'd rather vs a Azir then a Zed or leblec which can delete a champion when a team fight start and make it a 4v5. Azir needs to get fed to do high damage(Super high like the LCS battles) Other then that if you give him no kill's he is not really that strong he is also easy to gank. The other 2 can still delete a champion and are easy to use even when they are not even fed and after deleting a champ they just warp back to there back line (Behind tanks).

At the moment Azir is creating teamfights. His "Azirsec" combo puts you at almost as much of a disadvantage as a Zed picking a member from your team, if he manages to catch more than one valuble member then that combo alone is more valuable than Zed, the combo contributes more to a fight than Zed as a champion.

Then Azir can also follow up with some burst on top of it before dying (in most cases) making it far more valuble than a Zed in a teamfight.

He also has an alternate playstyle available to him though. He can sit back, use his solders to DPS and his wall to peel. This is why Azir is one of the strongest teamfighters in the game, he can fill two distinct roles in a teamfight.

When Riot thinks all of us can do that WER combo to push enemies into team/turret, or Rito thinks all of us can do the Shuriman Shuffle as if it was totally easy as fk.

I believe they wanted to enforce the fact that is should be used as an escape and not an initiation tool, like so many were using it as.

But they went a little too far with it this time.

it can still be used to set up a good ult, its just riskier.

To be honest i was getting tired of all these hypercarries being so safe with early/midgame scaling. What happened to the days of Kog'maw/old Ryze/Trist, who were practically useless early/mid for the lategame scaling?

Sacrifice your damage for a telegraphed escape.

Oddly enough, I think the collision should be removed entirely if they are going to do this. There has been several times when my wall was a pixel away from knocking 3 people back instead of 1 because of the unit collision with an enemy champion.

Imo they should remove the shield but keep the knock up.

That way, Azir could still be a potent initiator but he would have to build more tankyness if he wants to do that.

a reposition tool that also has a shield and knockup attached to it on a ranged huge burst and dps control mage sounds very balanced to me

The shield and knock up is only if it is used offensively which will leave Azir with no escapes and on top of the target he just knocked up It is the reward for using his only escape aggressively

And well if you Azir knocks up anyone when trying to escape with it... he likely won't get far...

A shield and knockup attached to a ranged burst that puts you in melee range to be hit by whatever skillshot and stops at the first champion it hits meaning it can be bodyblocked unlike all other dashes in the game and is needed to actually get his ultimate off.
