What's a hyper carry?

The term gets used a lot, but technically isn't labelled in game. I know marksmen make up the term, but there are fighters, mages, and even tanks who use the term as well. Who are considered hyper?

Usually a poor or lopsided early game is offset by an immensely powerful late game-- this is usually defined by percentile scaling that makes a champion powerful in the late periods of a game, like Vayne or Kog who scale to enemy health.

It's a bit awkward right now. Riot is still figuring out their S7 changes, so pardon them while they determine what year they're in and why 'protect the ADC' is an awkward direction for every game to take.

I wish it was still like this. Right now it feels like Hyper carry is now ALWAYS good. Its silly.

I agree with your post but adc scaling has been messed up way before the preseason

Hyper carries are champions that scale very well usually via items.

Fiora/Jax late game can 1v1 anyone Trist/Kog/Vayne do the most damage out of ADC's and scale best with the items. Moakai is generally the all around best tank (then you have other that are best magic or armor tanks) The mages are a little weird, but Cassio is generally the one I hear.

True hypercarries are champions that tend to outscale everyone towards endgame. They are pretty much exclusively Marksman, or ADCs.

There are a few mages and fighters who can sorta compete, but over a lengthy teamfight, damage will fall off after the initial burst. I'll post who I think is a hyper carry vs who just scales stupidly good into late game.

Everyones opinion will vary a bit here, for the record, this is my opinion as a platinum support main.

True Hypercarries: Jinx Kalista KogMaw Lucian Tristana Twitch Xayah Vayne

Exceedingly strong late game: Jax Kayle MasterYi Nasus Sivir Ashe Draven Caitlyn Jayce Singed Trundle Tryndamere Varus Veigar Vladimir XinZhao Yasuo Zilean

I thought Lucian falls off late game?

I don't think lucian is a hypercarry. He was suppose to be an early to mid game ad carry but I honestly don't feel like lucian has a mid game anymore cause he gets outscaled very early on by most adc.

I'd argue varus is much more of a hypercarry than lucian.
