If you want to play Akali the best build is currently something like item 3146 item 3068 item 3065 item 3078 item 3748 item 3047

Spirit Visage has always been fairly solid item on Akali. I've seen it situationally on her since season two.

when you tell me getting item 3151 for 3100 item 3116 2600 gold and you can make the damage from item 3068 stronger by having magic pen item 3001 item 3020 item 3089

so 3100 gold + 2600+2900+2750+3800+1100 = 13350

That's not even the best AP Akali build, let alone that bruiser builds are just better than AP right now, which was the point of this comment.

A better AP Akali build would be item 3146 item 3001 item 3135 item 3020 item 3157 item 3100 with no particular order outside of Gunblade first.

The idea behind building Akali tanky is that you survive long enough to proc E repeatedly. You spam the hell out of E until you have no energy left to use for it and that takes a while because E only costs 40 energy. You could build Magic Pen for your Q/Passive/Gunblade/Sunfire, but over the course of a fight these things are outdamaged by your E and AA damage.

I think you'd understand why I'd buy Sunfire/SV with that in mind, they're just the best defensive items as long as you're not buying Cinderhulk. Akali and Gunblade also have very good synergy with SV.

So we move to next logical step, how do I increase my E damage and does that help the rest of my kit? There's 3 stats that increase E's damage, primarily CDR is the biggest increase, then AD, then AP. Trinity offers the best two of these stats. It's stats are also overwhelmingly synergistic with Akali's kit. CDR gives more mobility from R, survivability from W and damage from Q/E. AD gives more damage from Passive/E and more survivability from passive. More AS makes it easier to proc passive. More HP and MS are just good. The passive is easy to proc with E spam. So all we don't care about is the mana. If you use almost all of Tri and only fall flat on a single area it's a very good item.

So why do I buy Titanic? Because I have stats that work well with it already. I have 40% Attackspeed from Tri and 1250 HP on my items. Titanic's a very good item when you already synergise with it.

The reason why this build's better than an AP build? Everything on it synergises with each other and you, while also functioning as independent single items. The AP build is clunky as hell. None of the items on the AP build work without the other items. Abyssal needs pen, Void needs AP, Zhonya's is pure utility, Lichbane needs AP. The AP build is just so bad in the mid game, it has no logical path. It's fine by the late game but it's not like the bruiser build isn't. The bruiser build probably outscales the AP build. There's just no reason to play the AP path, because the bruiser build winds up being equally as strong or stronger at every point.

A more expensive build is justified by a stronger build. You can add about 1k to the price of your build because you didn't include Gunblade which isn't optional on Akali. Personally if I was building close to your build for some reason I'd build it over the Rylai's which adds 800 gold to your build bringing the price to 14150.

Do you know what that's strangely close to? item 3146 item 3065 item 3068 item 3047 item 3078 . My 5 item build at 13933. Do you know which one is actually stronger? The 5 item build is better stat for stat than the 6 item build. That's before mentioning it has room for growth.

That combo costs more than 5k gold. There's far better things to do with 5k gold, like literally anything including but not limited to buying a tear and selling it 15 times. Simple fact is that combo is fairly weak on most mages, I'd just prefer any other singular item over it.

sorry dude, but rito decided that slows shouldnt exist in gold items, only in broken abilities. might i suggest never playing akali? she was good a few years ago, and yeah sure, the no pink ward now, but shes not good. if you're really desperate of learning an energy champ, "go pikachu!"
