@RIOT Eve is sitting at a 42% winrate. Can we talk about her?
Evelynn is my second most played champion, and I woke up one day to her suddenly being significantly weaker. I appreciate the armor buff, but I think she needs a lot more help, potentially even some changes to her kit. Here are the problems I've seen in the new jungle:
- She can't balance ganking and farming, so if she's not getting incredibly good ganks off (ie tons of kills) she falls behind. She struggles so much with the new jungle that doing a camp can leave her too low to gank, and she's terrible at farming to catch up.
- Jungle invades are deadlier than ever and Eve can't keep control over her own buffs, or even defend herself. Either Eve recalls after her first buff or goes to her second buff low on health and after a lengthy amount of time. This means her buff can be taken while she's in base or she can be killed while she's trying to do her second buff, and she has no answers for either of these scenarios.
- Somewhat more kit-centric, but none of the items particularly benefit her. Elder Lizard worked because it synergized with her E. You recommend the Magus upgrade for her, but AP hasn't been optimal on Evelynn in a long time.
These weaknesses culminate in Eve being very unreliable, and she's not good enough at anything to compensate. Basically there's no justification for picking her anymore, and making her work is a challenge. Her ganks aren't better than other junglers', she scales poorly, and when she inevitably falls behind she's got no fallback mechanisms. She's supposed to be an assassin and the queen of map pressure, but you've gutted her kit and given her such a hard time in the jungle that she can't kill anyone and even if she could, she can't get out of the jungle to do it.
Balance issues aside: you talk a lot about wanting to deliver on champion fantasies, and Eve's definitely one of the worst offenders. Prior to 4.20 she was still one of my favorite champions despite her shortcomings, but now that we're struggling to even win a game on her I think it's a good time to talk about some of her issues.
