Crit changes do nothing to bring non-marksmen into the botlane

Ok so if I bring a mage into the new botlane then ADCs will be able to... win earlygame still cause they don't need to use mana most of the time...

So bringing in a Fighter aaaaand I got outdamaged unless my support is a tank who always magically coordinates perfectly with me in order to kill the enemy support+ADC

Bringing in an Assassin aaaand I get outscaled if I don't win the lane with at least 3/0 and the enemy ADC is 0/3

Not to mention that Stormrazor is going to make Draven, Graves, Quinn, Jhin, and Kindrid might ACTUALLY be (somewhat more)viable with some extra upfront burst to help her out

Overall the crit changes aren't going to bring non-marksmen into the botlane like Riot said they would try to do in the preseason goals video

I doubt the changes are meant to do that. Bringing non adcs bot has nothing to do with adcs in the first place. Ziggs bot worked because he can kill towers with w and has good dps.

not even a little true lol. Most ADCs have mana costs they need to manage. It's not as severe as mages because ADC spells aren't 800 range nukes that also provide AOE and crowd control.

-4 AD is massive and ADCs have less armor = ADs are more vulnerable to AD fighter poke and all-ins. You don't even need to pick a tank support, TBH. Somebody like Nami would work excellently with an all-in fighter since she gives them sticking power through her E.

which is exactly how assassins are supposed to work

Well, there hasn’t been any recent talk of bringing other champs into bot lane, so I’m inclined to believe that those changes may be still on the way.

I dont think any other class other than some DPS mages (Cassiopeia, Azir, Ryze) can be brought bot unless they are completely broken anywhere else.

Bot lane is a duo lane, meaning it's a lane for people who scale less with EXP: supports have utility in their kit (shields, heals, CC, sheer tankyness) or high base damages (scales less with levels, more with penetration); adcs mostly scale with items, therefore, gold.

The fact that both players are ranged 90% of the time means you cant bring a melee into the lane reliably since they just get poked down. So really only mages like Azir, Cassiopeia, Ryze and Ziggs can be brought into that lane, but even then, they need a mana item to function.

The Mid Season's intention is no longer to bring mages to the Bot Lane and that has been swapped into a possible long term goal.
