People who "don't know" how to play support.

Seriously, how do people NOT know how to play support? I was just in a match that got dodged by someone who claimed they "Don't know how to play support", how the actual hell is Support "tough" to play?

Support isn't hard to play but it's hard to be a good support

You see, even plat+ players mistake the role as just "walking around" sometimes and end up having horrible builds, I know when Tobias Fate was trying support he built Ancient Coin over a Relic Sheild on a tank and the whole chat screamed at his idiocy (he admitted he was trying to find a new role+champ to try and have fun with climbing again)

It takes a good support to be able to harass, protect their adc, be WILLING to protect their adc, know when their adc is fine so they can roam/ward, and know when their adc is useless so they can just roam and try and get other lanes ahead, even building the correct items takes a good amount of expereince.

It's also an underplayed role because 'I need damagus to carry my team WaAAAH' when on Sion supp I usually end up dealing more damage than my "carries" with nothing but an IBG and some tank items.

As the previous person said, it makes sense for any role, though that probably means those people who can't play a role at a borderline level need to practice them a little.

But seriously, an easy supp to play AND be a good support with is Soraka as well as Sona, I'd suggest Nautilus, but he actually does take at least SOME skill.

I actually wouldn't suggest Sona. She is hard to position and really easy to get picked off by any kind of cc early game with one of the worst defensive stat sets in the game. Every time I'm against a Sona in bottom lane, I focus her over the ADC because she is so incredibly squishy.

Soraka players need to be able to process information quickly- I.E. healing each teammate without letting one fall too low in a fight, this is especially difficult when the enemy team is mainly burst, speaking of burst, a good silence can save a life, would you expect a first time soraka to use her E right?

And as for Sona, her builds are somewhat inflexible and requires you to be ballsy with engages sometimes. Most low-skill/low elo players can do neither of these as they buy what's in front of them and either go too ham or fail to do anything meaningful when they have to get their hands dirty and take risks.

Seriously, how do people NOT know how to play top? I was just in a match that got dodged by someone who claimed they "Don't know how to play top", how the actual hell is top "tough" to play?

Seriously, how do people NOT know how to play mid? I was just in a match that got dodged by someone who claimed they "Don't know how to play mid", how the actual hell is mid "tough" to play?

Seriously, how do people NOT know how to play jungle? I was just in a match that got dodged by someone who claimed they "Don't know how to play jungle", how the actual hell is jungle "tough" to play?

See, you can do that with every role. It makes the same amount of sense for all of them. It's a role that has its own playstyle, just like every other role. It's a role you can be bad at and not know how to play, just like every other role. You're phrasing it like support is a brain dead role and everyone should be able to play it easily, but it's not any easier or less meaningful than anything else.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut the thing is from all roles support is the easiest.

Dynikus2 votes

except it's not. Not to do well, anyway.

S0kaX1 votes

It may not be the easiest to do well, but the easiest to not play bad.

I think any ADC or support main would disagree with you. An ADC main can tell when they have a good support and they are willing to do more to get ahead. With a poor support, all an ADC can safely do is farm which makes them fall behind.

I am a support main. And it's not that hard to not do bad. All you have to do is not farm and protect your adc with any price. And maybe know how to harass. But the last one is optional.

"Don't know how to play support"

translates to "i don't want to support"

Honestly i just spam soraka so i cant be flamed at for my mechanics

I don't know, supporting does need some brainpower and if we're expecting a typical shitter to have them... I have bad news.
