I'm convinced its a bug that relates to which color side the Yas player is on, hence why it appears to be "out of turret range". That's my two thoughts on that. https://youtu.be/-uCkmaI0kvs?t=55 this part especially makes it seem like that in my eyes. (it jumps to 55 sec in the video where the clip is)

It is not a bug. it is intentional.

Then in the skill, it should mention that. Since it isn't, it means that its either a overlooked interaction or a bug.

It's intentional. The tooltip doesn't need to mention anything. Riot literally changed it to work that way quite a while back
