so why are you losing lp when you dodge.
i agree with everything else but losing lp is dumb. Had a guy was last pick insist he go mid dispite being last pics and locked in lux.

Because people could just dodge infinitely until they got the team they wanted with the position they wanted with the comp they wanted
Short answer: Because there's little harm for people who dodge only in extreme cases, while preventing people from exploiting the system.
Long answer (or rather explanation of those statements): In the short time where dodging had no impact on your rank, people constantly dodged, because they were able to climb easier when making sure they always had an edge on the other team, championwise. LP loss does not allow that, hence it prevents this kind of abuse, since you will have to play games without dodging to climb at all.
At the same time, a single LP loss does nothing to you in the long run, since your MMR stays the same. If your MMR is higher than expected for your rank, you gain LP faster. So even if you only lost a marginal amount of LP (without losing MMR), you will henceforth gain marginal amounts of extra LP and get you closer and closer to the rank you would have had if you hadn't dodged.
So you won't dodge? Duh?
