@Riot If You Care So Much About Gameplay Clarity Why Is Riven Animation Cancelling A Thing?

Riven her animation cancelling goes against clarity as a whole, when fighting riven I never know if it's going to be a normal riven that takes 2-3 seconds to drop her full kit on me or a riven dropping her entire kit on me in half a second leaving me wonder what the hell just happened.

You're reworking abilities for clarity sake, you're even reworking visuals for clarity sake, for example Kayle being the latest, and yet we have riven who's animation cancelling flies in the face of clarity as you have no idea what the hell is going on as animation are cancelled and woven into each other, from an outside look it makes no sense, it sometimes looks like oh hey riven third Q shoots out the ult AOE as well, no wait it's just animation cancelling, oh hey rivens E can stun, no wait more animation cancelling.

If riven is balanced around animation cancelling then buff her but your focus being on clarity and then ignoring the biggest lack of clarity on Riven is just stupid.

edit; thinking about it some more isn't balancing riven this way also a problem? if Riven is balanced around animation cancelling that may mean that without animation cancelling you're weaker, possibly much weaker, should that be happening if that is indeed the case?

Because it is not unclear nor in any way limited to Riven. I've no idea why you think that it is.

Yeah, it's rubbish that looks and feels like bug abuse to anyone not desensitized to it. Ranged champions are also all balanced around animation canceling to some extent to kite and chase more effectively in higher divisions.

Then every champions ability to animation cancel goes against clarity.

Many champions can "animation cancel"

Caitlyn Lucian Renekton Riven etc etc

Animation canceling as a whole should not be a thing.

If it's bad on Riven, it's bad on everyone who can do it.

I am curious to know if any of it was because Riven was made to appeal to Fighter Game players. Animation and Attack Canceling are pretty core parts to those games. I feel like her In kit animation Cancels where put there intentionally and it was just some Items coding that was unintended.
