now that akali isn't absolutely useless

can we finally gut her passive spellvamp, the thing that has always made her broken? As long as she has her spellvamp, being an assassin who does the majority of her damage though point-and-click single target nukes, she will forever be annoying and impossible to deal with when ahead. Nerfing her spellvamp adds that counterplay Riot oh so likes to talk about, because without the absurd spellvamp she currently has, she won't be impossible to kill.

Have you seen passives nowadays? Champs are getting three of them and most of them are far better than just a weak little bit of spell vamp.

yes lets use riot's stupid ass modern champ design to justify something stupid in an older kit

It's six percent spell vamp. 6%. Yes, it can go up to seven or even eight percent if the player stacks a few hundred points of AD, which they never do. So as it stands, for every 1000 points of damage done, Akali heals for 60 health. Which is less than the amount of damage a single one of the autoattacks of an AD champion has at level 1, in any game you would play.

Only if we remove the Life Steal off of Nasus first.

noice job trying to compare a burst assassin with insanely easy to access single target damage to an immobile bruiser who gets kited to death

I'm just saying that I feel the Life Steal on Nasus is far more broken then the very little amount of spell vamp on Akali. Remember that Akali only gains spell vamp from bonus AD, the it feels more broken then it is because most Akali's get gunblade as their first item (giving her like 32% spell vamp). If you're facing an Akali that didn't get it, then she'll stay with just 6% which is nothing. Also she only has 3 damaging abilities that proc her spell vamp, where one them (which is probably the most spammable now that it's cd is the lowest..E) is an aoe which reduces it by 1/3.

Nasus has the weakest early game of any fighter in the game, bar none.

Because of Life steal.

Remove it, ive him different passive and bam!

Because he has very strong late game, not because he has weak sustain that works only for one ability in his kit.

Yes he does, but thanks to that broken Life steal it's really hard to actually kill him or completely force him out of lane. Nasus is easy to duel early game if you can keep him away from his tower, but all he needs to do is walk under his tower and Q like 1 or 2 minions and then he's practically back at full hp. Which is why I hate him due to the fact that, unless you have a lot of burst that can kill him before he runs to his tower, or have range then you won't actually kill him but slighty "delay" his Q stacking...Which by 35-40 mins into the game, unless you were with him bullying around for the full time, will get out of control.

I would actually completely disagree with you on this. This passive makes Akali unique. It also allows her to survive in lane. She isn't really a strong champ til maybe level 4, and unless she's playing super passively and willing to sacrifice CS loss to avoid losing HP, she relies on her passive.

Overall, I think she's in a good state right now. She's underplayed, undervalued, and very competent. Her passive isn't an issue.

there are many ways to handle sustain champions. i'd rather add another item with healing reduction and perhaps more champions with healing reductions. i'd rather people learn to deal with sustain champs than not have variety in champ kits. I like to have a few champions with sustain that stand out. Also high sustain champions are usually high risk high reward. pin them down and they die instantly.

its about high elo/competitive play, and akali isn't as strong there since people know how to deal with her.

Its not that high elo people know how to deal with her, they only play the strongest of champions. They dont play them for fun. There is not counter play to champions like Akali, she either Triple Rs to you on sight and kills you or she doesnt. If your not playing #LCSBIGPLAYS champ of the month, chances are you lack the damage, or utility to deal with her. If she ever get ahead, you cant come back. Its as simple as that. When the balance for a champion is Kill them before they kill you, or they win the game if they get a lead how is that fun? Im fine with champions snowballing if they have skill shots. Make her Q a skill shot, make her Ultimate into a skill shot that hits the first target she collides with. Up her damage, or sustain to compensate, for the love of god give us counter play thats dont get clicked on.

  1. they aren't going to add another grievous wounds item anytime soon, and even if they did it would be ineffective as it would require you to constantly reapply it to keep her from sustaining

  2. you can tell people to "learn to deal with it" all you want, but the simple fact of the matter is that a fed Akali is impossible to "deal with". Akali is not a sustain champion, she's an assassin, and assassins shouldn't have massive amounts of sustain. Sustain is the very opposite of high-risk, high-reward because it makes it so that a character does not have to worry about eating poke or getting caught out, because they can just heal back up.

  3. Akali's winrate rises with rank, plats and diamonds have just as hard a time dealing with her as bronzies.

Brah. Broh brah.. .If they get rid of it they would have to buff her elsewere

Vistha Kai1 votes

Her kit is so awful that any meaningful buffs make her OP, just because in 1v1 or 1v2 situations she drain-tanks everything you throw at her.

Kingsgrave1 votes

How do you intend to compensate her for removing it?

She needs it to survive most fights.

And what would this accomplish?

It's fairly little spell vamp, and either way Akali is rushing more, so the change is unnoticeable for you.
