PSA about survivability: There is a difference between tankiness and survivability.
So I was just thinking about Durability AKA Tankiness when I realised that. Survivability is not the same as tankiness. Survivability is the ability to stay alive and it depends on a variety of factors in mitigating damage and is the antithesis to DPS. here is a list of factors that affect survivability:
-
Durability Aka Tankiness: Nuff said about it
-
Shields: Do I need to explain that too?
-
Sustain AkA Lifesteal/Spell Vamp. Bests out sustained damage, does nothing vs burst.
-
Mobility: In the great words of Nick Landis's Piccolo: DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODGE!!!!! Jokes aside. Being able to move fast is ofc key to avoiding some nasty skillshots.
-
Kit: Naturally some champs will have tricks to stop damage and whatnot.
So you might ask yourselves how some some champions have low Tankiness but are completely unkillable, well know you know why
,
and
are so hard to kill in spite of them having low armor and MR.
Peace.
has survivability
has tankiness
has both
and
. I listed the following attributes because the sum of them put together is what makes up one's survivability. I did state that Skirmishers have Low resistances because they benefit from AD, AS and Crit. But they can or cannot 1v3 based on the situation. At times they can demolish an entire team, other times they die like it's nothing. Skirmishers rely on mobility, Lifesteal and conditional defensive abilities to survive. That along on a one skirmisher can cover up their glass canon weakness unless they get caught out position or they are don't have the means to counter X attack on them.
