Janna Building Mejai's?

Before sight stone, which we all pleaded with her to buy, and proceeds to feed and we proceed to get ambushed cause we have no wards. Which follows up with us getting behind in items cause we have to spend all of our gold on wards and proceed to lose the game because of a certain fed lucian 15 or so kills with 9 of those coming out of landing phase.

And yet my team turns on me when I type in to report janna or the fact that she fed. Am I the bad person here? If so how?

Mejai's Soulstealer is a good item on Janna because of how well she scales with AP and how safe she is due to all of her peeling, protection, and mobility. However, Sightstone is typically purchased beforehand due to how much it can save on wards and how much the health can help early-game.

If the Janna was feeding, she shouldn't have purchased Mejai's Soulstealer in the first place. This is probably a case of a player following the pro builds without really understanding their reasoning, playstyle, or situational decisions.

However, I don't believe that playing poorly is reportable unless it is obviously intentional. Some people are just bad players or have an off game, so I don't think reporting her for that game would really matter in the grand scheme of things.

On top of that ^ buying wards should not put you behind. Why? Because you should already be buying them anyway. You should already be regularly buying enough wards that having to cover the usual support locations shouldn't cause that large of a disruption. Of course this was not an okay position for her to place you into, but it isn't one role's responsibility to grant vision to the team - it is everyone's. And if you're going to tell me that ~70g each every 3 minutes caused you to lose a game when pick offs can grant upwards of hundreds, then I'm going to tell you that you are grossly misunderstanding the game.

Well first, don't try to blame all of it on Janna. Yes, some times someone feeds making it seemingly impossible to win, but you can't lost a game by only 1 person feeding. Multiple people on the losing side have to contribute to lose, it doesn't all fall on one person... Now, I'm not saying you did anything wrong, but keep that in mind.

Now, About the Mejai's. Having Soulstealer on Janna is actually really good, if you can actually get use out of it. Having a point/click Slow and point/click Shield, it is very easy to get assists (which get stacks of Mejai's.) Now, if you're losing more stacks than you're gaining, then you have a problem and probably should sell it. In this situation, you should probably get sightstone before anything (Actually, you should rush sightstone before anything) and she probably should not have gotten Mejai's at all.

In reality, wards hardly cost any gold at all. I get 1-4 wards every time I recall and almost always have enough gold for what I need. It is also not **only **the supports job to ward. In fact, every single person needs to contribute to buying wards, so you were in the right there.

Unless you were flaming, you were not in the wrong here. You all bought wards, you all did your part, it's not your fault that Janna fed but you also could have been more cautious and gotten yourself fed instead.

Mejai's is a very normal item to build on Janna. Core, even. Buying it before Sightstone is aggressive, but if you have 1500 gold when you back I can see doing it.

If you can't see, you have to play like there's a Garen in every bush. Lucian getting 9 kills in the laning phase should be completely impossible, even if you have zero wards.

The only time you should not be buying sight stone first is if you are prepared to buy wards to compensate for the entire time it takes you to get it, I typically have a sight stone and 3 normal wards in my inventory whenever I leave the base mid game, you only buy majai's if you know how to stay safe on the champion you're playing, and in an assassin meta it isn't really that great.

Why didn't you buy some wards?

Why didn't you buy some wards?

In my OP you can see that I said that my team and I had bought wards to make up for the lack of them from the support. Normally I always try to bring 1 ward with me to lane but having to buy 3 each time gets annoying fast
