I find that no one does Rift Herald

In the majority of my games, people have not been getting Rift Herald for the buff. And when they do go for Rift Herald, the jungler always takes it which I don't understand. Why would the jungler take rift herald if it doesn't help the jungler?

Great contribution to the thread. You've gained everyone's attention with your riveting commentary. Let's not fail to point out that you ended the season at Silver II, something barely above Bronze Rank that most people in the game will place at.

As for the thread, I've had the opposite experience. I find that enemy top laners in my games have rushed it as soon as they were comfortable doing so. I'm not sure why a jungler would take it unless they were duoed with the top and wanted security in smiting it + making some insane push afterwards?

Junglers will smite Rift Herald if there's nearby enemies looking to contest, yes. It's better that the jungler get it and get the gold/exp/stacks what have you than to let the enemy team get it.

The only reason why I would see a reason to is if the enemy was making attempt to steal it, and you secure it with smite. But that would be an extreme case.

But compared to dragon, I don't think it's worth a major team fight over. Since the 250 global gold probably wouldn't be worth a death, should the fight go sour. And if the guy with the buff dies, it was all for nothing. (I'm not even sure if it's worth trading for dragon, unless you are able to make immediate use of the buff.)

i took it my first time doing it as a jungler bc i didn't realize it only gave 1 buff...so that might have something to do with it, especially considering it is taken so infrequently.

also, whoever tanks that thing pretty much HAS to back. so it's kinda risky unless you have mad pressure on the enemy team

i remember this riven like pinging to do it as she was clearing a wave...like oh ya sure ill start this thing up all by myself and you can come last hit it!.....yeahhhh...no.
