So the enemy team can't see them.
Which is freaking lame, can we get that fixed? Why can't we see what the enemy team excels at, it's the only tip off we get! Pro's know who they go against and get time to practice and or watch and adapt. The least we could get is to see the enemy boarders and mastery levels of said champ.
Flaherty4 votesIt shouldn't matter what rank your opponent is because you should be playing your best regardless, if anything the only thing knowing what rank or mastery level your opponent does is either make you give up before the game starts or gives you something to harass the other player with if they don't play with the skill you think their border/mastery deserves

Except literally nobody does that (if someone does he'll get banned for leaving games, no different from having an afk), and anyone can look up the other team on sites such as lolnexus and opgg.
There is really no legit reason for the borders to not show for everyone nowdays.

It shouldn't what rank or mastery your opponents are, cause we don't know the legitimacy of the player, they could be boosted or bought.
They could be tilted and falling ranks. Seeing their ranks/mastery could be misleading and could tilt the game in their favor.
but it you want it as an option, you are free to request it as that, but not permanently on.

Considering how easy it is to find using third-party websites (i.e. LoLNexus, LoLSkill), there isn't really any reason to hide it.

Sukishoo2 votesThis season will be no different with the reset. There will be a soft reset for ranks when the 2017 season starts as Riot said both Solo/Duo and Flex queues will use the MMR that players currently have.
