Why Have Autofill In Low Elo?

I just dont see the point. Before I was finding games in low elo in about 1-2 minutes, and with autofill it remains the same. But instead everyone swaps roles in the lobby. I can understand autofill in higher elo because of how long the queues are, but in low elo when im trying to get my smurf to a higher elo, I dont see the point of autofill.
