There are other safe midlaners that are hard to gank. The problem is that on top of that, she has incredible sustain for a mage AND a way to HARD ENGAGE with her R E which has way more reach than most mages' CC.
The problem is that she has a combination of everything.

Its a decent heal at best that requires you to blow a few spells of mana to even prime it to become active. Sustaining enough to matter will leave you oom in no time even with a chalice

Dr Poro1 votesR and E muh skillshots. Having 3 dashes to reposition yourself to make your 2 skillshots undodgable takes much skill. Oh and best part, even if you miss them, you still win with just 3 Rs, W, ignite and the return of her Q (you must be a complete idiot to miss both parts of your Q).

luckmallory1 votesLOL you can't be serious. A skill shot is a skill shot. Any one with a movement ability can dodge them. Have you ever played Ahri against ekko or fizz? two popular mid laners. She excels against immobile mages, why should that be a bad thing. Thats like saying xerath is broken because he excels in poke comps and does a ton of damage if you let him sit back and launch skills

Ionian1 votesShe does a bit of everything, but there are champions that do specific things better than her. LB has faster (and more) burst. Also more mobility. Zed can get in, kill and get out more easily. Also has no mana costs and more mobility. Yasuo has more mobility, no mana costs and more sustain (through a dorans blade start + blocking most abilities with passive/wall). Ekko has more cc and AOE damage. Lux, Ziggs and Xerath have better poke and far more range. And they all have hard cc too.
You talk like Ahri is perfect, and while she is by no means a bad champion, she has some pretty hard counters like Talon, Annie, Diana, Akali (but nobody plays her), Swain and Syndra.
