I don't play nor like Ahri, but...

.... yeah, the charm nerf is kinda stupid, and the arguments brought up to support it by riot are a bit... underwhelming. When it floats your boat, stuff "separates the good from the great"... when it doesn't, it's because _"consistency over other CC". _ Charm stopping dashes is:

  • thematically fitting and unique
  • helps against mobility creep (honestly, more skills should stop dashes, not less)
  • power budget relevant only situationally and/or on skilled players, so it's unlikely to be impactful as a nerf
  • removing it strips away more fun than it hepls balance

I won't express myself on Ahri's balance state, nor do i care.

If a nerf is needed, which can be absolutely legit, making is Q movement speed come out only if the spell hits champions sounds more reasonable and overall a better choice design wise:

  • rewards skill and increases counterplay: if her charm is off and i manage to dodge her Q, i deserve to close up and maul her face: this is fair but right now it does not happen. Here i'd put a fix.
  • lowers significantly ahri's safety and punishes bad plays, so it is an impactful nerf
  • does not hurt best-case scenarios
  • prevents the unintended usage of her Q as a mere mobility tool; i often see ahri players throwing it backward only to roam faster, or in order to catch up in a prolonged chase

This is coming by a mostly immobile tank/bruisers player, who if closed in a room with Hitler, an Ahri player and Stalin with a gun with 2 bullets, would shot the Ahri player twice.

Lol, do you know what charm means? Anyway, the nerf just prevents Ahri from sitting on charm in an encounter. She just has to use charm aggressively instead of punishing the enemy for fighting her. With the consistency of Ahri atm, it must have been easy to tell that in this meta, Ahri has some power in the form of anti-engage that shouldn't be there.

Again, charm usage in stopping dashes is not a reliable tool. Moreover, this change does not prevent the defensive usage of charm in any way whatsoever. Hitting a LeBlanc mid dash is very agressive to me. Much of her "anti-engage power" sits in her Q movement speed, which should be the most obvious target for nerfs.
