I'm trying to learn to support cuz im tired of getting autofilled trash on my team

Personally, my preferred support picks are:

Nidalee
What sort of support style are you looking for? What other roles and types of champs do you usually play?
basic supports if you're learning to support are: soraka, janna, and blitz then theres nami braum and lulu and then theres the rest, it all depends on your playstyle, if you want i could provide builds depending on your playstyle and tips!

Sona since all you have to do is press buttons
If you are looking for a tanky melee support (w/ good CC for peel/engage) I would recommend
or
, as far as ranged mages that do similar jobs decently
and
are the first two that come to mind.
That said many champs can be used as support, as long as you play them in a supporting style, peeling for adc/other carries, zoning/engaging and keeping the map warded, but the champions mentioned simply have kits that synergize well with the support role.
My three picks would be

Sona is great at keeping teams alive even through the dumbest of engages without really needing any mechanical skill. Lux was how I learned, but she has her own self peel, a shield that's pretty good if you can land it on the entire team and an ult that will clear out stragglers. Leona for getting your team to engage/disengaging them.

get a Quadra when they Gangbang bot .
death is the best support .
and after it i dare them to get even close to ur adc .
hows that for a support ?
I want to make damage support:
I want to be tanky support, and freelo:
I want to be tanky tanky tanky support:
I want to go afk for 15 minutes because I've better things to do, and then, later on, play and win:
I want to fix stupidity:
All those supports are easy to play. Low learning curve, high reward.
Imho, dont play
either they dont reward enough your skill, or they have a high learning curve.
i understand thresh and raka but y ali and nami also bard may havee a high learning curve but i think hes really worth it after u get down when to ult and stuff
Alistar is combo dependant, you need not to miss your combo NEVER EVER. Plus, it's not as rewarding after his rework as he used to be. His skillcap is high, his reward is meh (at least that's how I feel about him).
Nami needs a perfect use of her Q, you need to NEVER EVER miss her Q if you want to be somewhat decent. And I find it quite difficult. I've played nami a lot, and I dont play her anymore because I dont feel that she is worth the time invested. With janna you get the same benfits with less effort/skill.
Bard is high skillcap high reward, if you are looking for an easy support he isnt a good choice, though, he's fun and rewarding if you invest time enough on him. Really a good choice if you want to spend a good amount of time playing support, tbh...
Depends on your team really.
If you have a good team, traditional supports like
etc are great to know.
If you have teams that are missing something (no AP, no tank, no poke, no map awareness), the a carry support like
can be really beneficial. You can try a support like Naut if no tank, but honestly, it's really hard being the only tank as support.
I personally run into the latter of the two more often than not, mostly no AP, so I tend to play a lot of Brand to try and make up that fact. Granted, most teams are not going to build MR to counter a support Brand, so it's not like you take the place of an AP mid, but you still offer something to the team even if the enemy is stacking armor.
Leona, Soraka, Blitz are basic ones in my opinion.
