PSA: Tanks aren't the only ones with unusually high damage.

Literally everyone has high damage now with damage creep. Masteries in particular giving much more than they used to. That's why it feels like tanks do more damage to the squishy carries, who haven't gotten any tankier.

Tanks themselves alone don't need damage nerfs. Everyone needs them.

I fondly remember the days when ~3% damage amplification used to be the pinnacle of the offensive tree.

Nowadays, you get higher damage amplification from T4 Ferocity Masteries.

The fact that we have an offensive tree, an offensive/utility tree and a defensive/utility tree is not helping matters.

The Resolve tree didn't even have any impactful defensive masteries until Courage of the Colossus and Fearless were added this season.

Remember when veterans scars was nerfed? That was dumb.

They tried to make the mastery better for ADCs.

Most ADCs still don't want to take it since Runic Armor works with lifesteal, passive health regeneration, potions and heals/shields provided by allies (i.e. the support they lane with).

See, that was the dumb part. What ADC would even bother going into resolve when everyone goes 100% damage in them?

Caitlyn is probably the main ADC I could see preferring Resolve over Cunning.

Caitlyn is picked for two main reasons: to stay safe and to bully the enemy ADC. As such, she can make good use of:

  • Health Regeneration
  • Reduced minion damage
  • Bonus health (Flat or from Regen)
  • Lower CD on Heal and Flash

But does she?

While Champion.GG isn't the best source, Cunning appears to be the standard while Resolve has the highest win-rate (with a much lower sample size).

Honestly didn't expect that.

I still find the change from % to flat for a class that doesn't really use it to be very dumb.

Eh, it could easily just be a couple Caitlyn one-tricks who prefer Resolve since it matches their play-style (or who just had a good week).

Agreed.

Most ADCs go resolve right now not just caitlyn

Links please. No offense but I call bullshit.

Impressive. Who else besides Doublelift?

Imaqtpie and others all have pages with a resolve tree but I'm not sure if they use it. I should have said lots of good ADCs use resolve instead of most.

I love maokais and malphites that don't build a single damage item and out damage / tank squishies.

It feels great getting oneshoted by Malphite with item 3110 item 3143 item 3075 item 3065 item 3047 item 3512

Spoofghoul2 votes

that same malphite also gets oneshotted by everyone running

item 3142 item 3814 item 3147 item 3036 item 3071

Has Riot acknowledged the damage creep? I remember when S6 started everyone would take Thunderlords and build armor/magic penetration. Mastery and Itemization is a joke and heavily favors burst damage oriented champions over sustain champions.
