I need to get my PRIMARY role at least 50% of the time

otherwise its not primary.

i'll wait even longer, but please try to understand that the queue simply doesn't function the way it should, I realize mid is in super high demand, but there has to be some justification to giving me jungle (my secondary) 10 times in a row before my primary once.

...and that would be that mid is in high demand.

I mean I get what you're saying and all, but consider how large the community is. If Riot were to fix the queues to give you your primary every x games, that could potentially cause hours of deadlock in the long run.

But just for you. Wow takes care of this by rewarding bonus IP to roles in low demand, etc. They could easily solve this system.

All this will do is cause players to lock in their role with the most popular role so that they get theirs often, reducing the already low number willing to play support.

I have a better solution -- allow players to select the same role in both primary and secondary slots.

That way you can queue in any of three ways:

  1. Primary role/Fill secondary (how I usually queue, Jungle/Fill)
  2. Primary role/secondary role (like queueing Top/Mid or something like that)
  3. One role in both slots (so you can only get that role, but you will wait in queue a lot longer)

I'd support this, personally I put mid/top since a lot of the same champions can work in both roles.

The other day I was playing with a friend. My primary was Jungle and secondary mid. His Primary was support and secondary jungle. Twice in a row he got Jungle and I got mid. What the hell?

Someone tested this with me as well. Why the hell would the system give someone in your same premade your primary and give you their primary? The system is clearly busted.

I've seen that as well - it's not as nonsenical as it looks on first glance. The system wants to give everyone their primary but before that, it wants to give everyone SOMETHING. Someone else in that queue must have had support primary selected, meaning the system had no choice but to give your friend jungle because otherwise they had no role. It will give a role to someone who's selected it as secondary over someone who's selected it as primary if that's the only way to give everyone a role.

Big question here is why give support to the other person when if they'd given it to your friend, you could have both gotten your primary roles. Perhaps the other guy who chose support also had a role he couldn't possibly have gotten.

Yeah. I feel like they need a better system. I put jungle as my primary multiple times in a row and not once did I get it. Maybe I should start putting it as my secondary... hmmmm...

I don't have this issue at all lol. I typically get what I que up for.

Actually, technically you need to get your primary role around 21% of the time, though let's say it's more around 30%. Let's say your primary role is support, which you play 30% of the time, and your secondary role is mid, which you play 25% of the time. Then your 3rd most might be 20%, 4th most 15%, 5th most 10%. Your primary role would still be support.

A lot of times, if you're in champ select and someone dodges, you get thrown back into queue and accept another game. If its the same exact team, you're MOST LIKELY going to be given the SAME role you were given originally on that team. Pay attention to the usernames.

If you get matched with a different team, it can be anything.
