er ultimate is some stupid level of broken.

you and the team also need to be incredible dim to like, stand in it or let her get off a 5man tenticle summon slap, she has the easiest counterplay ever.

I played Illaoi quite a lot, currently mastery 6 soon 7.

Let me tell you, 90% of the kills i get are because the enemy did a mistake, not because i outplayed them or anything.

Ex: I get ganked while i'm overextended so i step in a bush. What does my enemies do? They step in my bush. Fine then, i grab one of their soul and ult and proceed to double them. It was THEIR MISTAKE. Instead they could have warded my bush, maybe bait my ult, or poke me at range, push the wave and corner me until i either die from getting harassed or i waste my ult and i'm vulnerable. But noooo they just HAD to step in the bush and make it easy for me to get two kills.

ex2: I'm laning against my enemy when i successfully grab their soul. What does the enemy do? they jump on me and try to trade with me. WTF???? when i hit both you and your soul, you take massively increased damage. DON'T DO THAT!!! Either move in a position where i can't hit you both, or just dodge the freakin tentacles. Buy boots and it's not that hard.

Illaoi is REALLY strong at capitalizing over the enemies' mistakes. Try avoiding to make dumb plays and you'll be fine.

#1 Advice to counter Illaoi: Don't feed her, not even one kills. and she'll struggle so hard in teamfights.

#2 Advice to counter Illaoi: PLAY ILLAOI! Seriously i used to be a bit like you and thought that she was such a lane bully. But now that i know Illaoi better, i have such an easy time playing against her, i don't think i've ever been killed once by her since then.

Illaoi would need a buff if not anything

Her ult needs a fix. In teamfights, she massacres people when they stand still and try to fight her, but falls flat if they don't. It's two extremes.

Her ultimate is pretty silly with how much damage it does and the fact that it lets her quite literally 1v5, but all you have to do is move out of it. Under no circumstance should you ever fight an Illaoi if her ult is placed. Just get the hell out of there.

if you want to play characters that can easily play around her, try ones like these characters can give illaoi a hard time easily depending on how you play,

if you want a comparison, sort of think like how lcs or whatever region ran singed when maokai was picked, if you pick a pure tank your objective isn't to kill her and win, it's to survive and not let her get way to out of hand. it gets boring, you want to make that play, but if shes in her tentacles, Do not under any circumstances fight her there. you will lose, everytime. Without tentacles, illaoi is pretty much a much, much shittier rift herald that can only do percentage damage every now and then with w. Freeze lane outside of her tentacles and she'll either be forced to give up farm or just wait. if she can come up to farm, stay on the edge of your minion wave, she q's to hit you through it, move out, she attempts to E you, move into your wave

Her teamfight presence is immense, but the main thing you have to remember is. Don't waste your cc on her While she's in the air of her ultimate, you cant cancel it nor cant you displace her. but its the same as any other aoe ultimate ability, Spread out. she cant inflict to much damage if she cant get multislaps on you.
