Why was Veigar's ult changed, and why is it staying as it is?

Changing the fact that it dealt more damage to ap champions to it doing a ton of damage to everyone and having a placebo execute effect doesn't really seem like it hit the mark

am i the only one who thinks it's a little strange we have a point and click champion that can deal over 2000 damage with one ability just for csing like the rest of us?

I know nasus has some similarities, however he doesn't have an aoe stun, or 2 ranged abilities that will instantly one shot anyone he targets.

most mages have one shot capabilities however, they have to land a stun, or flash and go through a full rotation, i just feel like either Veigar's passive should be changed, or his ult damage should be a LOT lower

Because it auto-murdering any AP champion while being sort of worthless against tanks or non-AP champions was bad for the game design?

And there's nothing wrong with that ability. If it dealt 2000, you had nowhere near 2000 health anyways in the first place. It's an execute.

He doesn't need nerfs. If you don't like his ultimate, get a Banshee's. Or you know, get MR and don't stay in his ult range when you're low enough to be executed.

New Veigar ult is significantly better against tanks and is probably better against squishies overall too. It wasn't terrible for killing tanks before but it is significantly less binary now.

Veigar's old ult did plenty of damage to players that weren't AP, the difference was that he had to play like Syndra, or Annie, or any other mage, he had to land his stun, and cast QWR and they'd die, instead of what he does now which is just hitting R, no stun necessary because W doesn't have to land anymore, and if it does, RIP literally anything under it because that ability one shots everyone too

it wouldn't be as big of a problem if his passive didn't guarantee any competent veigar player 1400AP by 30-35 minutes in

No, it doesn't.

It's 75% AP and the bases got nerfed, as well as losing the enemy AP scaling. The only way it would kill by itself is if they're already low health anyways. Even if Veigar had 1000 AP, it would never ever one-shot anyone with full health.

And no, 1400 by 30-35 is not normal at all.

I see veigar in plat every 5-10 games and all of them have well over 1000AP by 30 minutes, i'm not talking about bronze games where they have 80 cs at that point and don't even know what his passive does.

You also do not have to be low to be one shot by his ult, i've had 90% health and still had his ult do over 2000 damage to me

are the Veigar mains out or something? this champion is completely busted, and has been an extremely unhealthy champion for a while now.
