Plat 5 to Silver 4.
Thanks Riot. It took me 2 years to climb to that MMR, and 1 day to drop.
Yeah your soft reset seems to be more heavy handed face slap, Riot.
I was in Silver 5 to end the season and was about 70 lp.
I just went 7-3 in my promos and somehow I got placed in Bronze 2? That doesn't even make any damn sense. you know how demoralizing it is to do that good in promos and be punished for it? What's the point of doing good if you get placed WAY lower than you started? That is dumb and kind of makes me lose any motivation to ever play ranked again right there.
I have only been in silver this entire friggin season and yet...somehow I go quite positive in my promos and get lowered an entire division and 2 ranks.
Please explain how this isn't complete b.s.

Lets talk about justice. Season two I was silver, left for months because of the army, came back and you decayed me to Bronze 5. I dug my way out for the entire third season and finally got back into silver season 4. So,I was hopeful for these placement matches. My used to be duo partner (my brother) hit plat as you decayed me into a bottomless pit that most of the players whom fall victim to claim it's impossible to get out.
I got out. Because I don't believe in the option to "surrender". I didnt give up.
I was hopeful because though I'm not as good as my brother, I was on a rise. I felt like there was light at the end of the tunnel, my hard work would pay off.
I must mention the fact that my mmr has suffered enormously due to how HARD I have had to grind...and countless losses due to players who need not play ranked.
5/5 in my placement matches. Despite all the trials of afk's and clueless players...I actually broke even!
So, what all came of this? I'm now bronze 5 once again. How embarrassing. Not only is it embarrassing but it makes me want to find a game a little more...encouraging.
Remember MySpace? You don't, because something came along that identified with what people wanted.
You spend all this time reworking the map, items, strategies, etc. and when the community couldn't be any more excited...
...you crush them. Good job Riot. You made yourself a waste of time by throwing the time we spent on you into the trash.
While I'm at it. You want to know how to fix your system? Make it impossible to lose the tier you earn! Also, don't mix the tiers up. It's hard to climb out of silver when I'm matched with people in bronze who are literally clueless...like come on dude...you gotta ward...or come on guys, we killed 4 of them...why are u running in different directions aimlessly?
So, with that said. I think you need different conditions entirely to allow people to even play ranked. Maybe it's harsh, but your level 30s who just hit, are basically level 5's still. You have to control this better.

Gold 5 to Bronze 1... thanks Rito... took me months to get out of bronze. took me another month to get to gold. now im back... in 1 day.
Last year placements I went 4-6 and got into silver 4 This year I go 7-3 and I got bronze 4? Screw this game..
I think its safe to say they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to managing ranked tiers. Who ever made this decision to make ranked like this needs to be fired. seriously.

I've never had such bad placement matches in my life. 7 out of the 10 games every single lane on my team would get demolished (and at least one or two had someone straight up intentionally trolling). I am now in bronze for the first time in my life despite being gold for the last 2 seasons. =/ I am greatly disheartened.
Went 5 - 5 in placements... Went from Silver 5 to Bronze 5... FML!
Has everyone noticed how "RIotSweet" only comments on neutral posts. Obviously the management have told them to keep quiet for now while they monitor the player backlash from their dreadful Season 5 Promo mechanics.

Considering what happened last season I expect to go 4-6 in the placements and drop from S5 to B5. And probably stop playing League....
Hopefully I can end this next season higher than Silver V lol.
Report from a casual League of Legends player:
I started playing LoL at the end of Season 3. In fact, I got placed in Bronze 1 the day before Season 3 ended (3W-7L). I then saw all divisions of Bronze in Season 4, before ultimately taking a break from LoL when our baby was born. I was in Bronze 2 until the season reset.
I just finished my Season 5 placements last night and was placed in Bronze 1 (7W-3L). I was honestly expecting to be placed lower, but was pleasantly surprised to find myself placed higher than last season. I fully expect to get into Silver in the next few games. I was playing with quite a few Silvers from last season, and I feel like I can compete on that level now.
My matches went as follows: 1 - Katarina - Win (1-0) 2 - Braum - Loss (1-1) 3 - Janna - Win (2-1) 4 - Janna - Win (3-1) 5 - Janna - Loss (3-2) - My client crashed but I was able to get back in after the first 5 minutes - all lanes lost, and the game ended quickly 6 - Janna - Win (4-2) - Two guys fought over ADC (Vayne and Corki) - I ended up going mid against Ziggs... as Janna with support runes and masteries - everyone finally calmed down and worked like a team - We aced and rushed their Nexus with only 1 Nexus tower of our own 7 - Katarina - Win (5-2) 8 - Katarina - Win (6-2) - Troll concerns due to champ select miscommunication - Keeping positive as the game started I told my team, "I see a crazy way we can win this big." - We had a decisive victory - 21 min Surrender 9 - Katarina - Loss (6-3) 10 - Janna - Win (7-3)
All in all, I had great teams, no DCs (other than mine), and very little argument. I friended quite a few people who were on my teams. When you find good teammates, keep them!
Just wanted to share my positive experience, since it seems most people had a rough go in placements. Even if you main support (as do I), you can do a lot to help your team succeed. Primarily, be positive, be encouraging, be forgiving, and have fun, win or lose.

I honestly dont understand how the placing system works. like what it bases itself off of. I went 6-4 in my placements this year and got stuck in B4.
I won 9 ranked games out of 10, I thought i am suppose to be in gold. Why did I get to B3 only?
I'm in the awkward position where I won my last 10 ranked games, and now I'm reluctant to tackle my placements since going on a 20 ranked win streak is improbable to say the least.
I know the situation isn't going to get any easier so I'll have to bite the bullet eventually, but ladder anxiety is a thing even before I get on the ladder.
Well...Last season I got up to Bronze 1 before the reset...So more than likely I'll end back up in B5 and have to climb my way back up once again...
was plat 5 before the reset went 7-3 and was placed in plat 4.
definitely an improvement in this years placements compared to last years a lot more evenly matched players during the provisionals.

Have yet to be placed. Am nervous.
I've gone 6-4 in my placements the past two years, landing in Silver II my first time and Silver III my second. I have little reason to doubt I'll manage a similar performance this time.
Maybe I'll play ranked beyond my placements more than just every couple of months this time >.>
So, can I get some clarification? If I am S5 am I 100% going to bronze?

Went 5-5 on my placements. (2 losses, 2 wins, loss, 2 wins, loss, win, loss)
I ended season 4 at Gold IV, right before the reset.
I placed Silver 3.
Riot, I don't understand how your MMR works at all.
Everyone is complaining about bronze so what they did is make everyone go bronze. lol what logic is this......#confused
Well, last season I made it to Silver IV after only playing for a few months. Won six out of ten matches then, and won six out of ten this season. Only difference is that I somehow pulled Bronze IV after playing players that were higher MMR than they were in my last provisionals. Anyone know how to explain this to me? Cause I'm completely lost on how it happened.
In season 4 I didn't win any of my 10 games and I got Bronze 4. But then this year I win 6 of my 10 going 6-4 and I get Bronze 5? I don't get it. I carried all of my games too. I don't get it man.
Went from gold 5 to bronze 1 and now I'm getting bad teammates idk what you did to my placements but I don't approve this at all riot hate to say it but I'm very disappointed in these placements.. 5 wins and 5 losses too
Sure feels like Riot could have saved us all some painful matches by just making every ranked player start a full tier lower than they ended last season. I don't mind the challenge of fighting my way up the tiers in a new season. It sure would have been nice to skip the crap from heightened nerves of teammates and the drama of trolls who enjoyed the extra pain they could seemingly inflict. Reading how little the placements did for even those that won 9 of them, I think I'd have rather seen Riot do a plain old hard reset.
This is a fun game, but sometimes Riot should give a lot more clarity about what players can expect. The start of this new season seems a little sloppy. I do love the game design changes however (jungle in particular).
Gotta work tonight and tomorrow, but who knows, prob gonna give it a try over the weekend, may climb a rank or two.
I just LOVE that i was S5 and ran up to S3 last season, and i go 7-3, to be punished with B4. I cant thank Riot enough! Oh boy Elo Hell!
Considering I was silver II, I hope to get at least Gold.
