How can we "cinderhulkify" Magus?

I've heard a lot about how Magus isn't as good as the others but not a lot about how to fix it. What kind of simple thing could they change that would improve the item? Adding Mpen? Building it out of a sheen? Or simply adding management regen maybe? Was wondering what other ideas are out there, or maybe most consider it a "not broken don't fix it". Obviously with the suggestions I made you'd have to tweak the CDR/AP/both.

The biggest problem with Magus is a lack of AP junglers. For the few we have, it's fine.

Hm, depends on what we want it for.

Honestly, not a fan of the CDR. There's better items to build on AP junglers with cdr, and I'd prefer something else. What if we gave it the same unique passive of deathcap (giving the passive a name, just like immolate was) and a unique passive? Like boosting mana regen when in combat, more than machete already does. Good for clearing and extended fights.

Eh, my idea is probably stupid.

Though Linna does make a fair point. Not a lot of AP junglers, and they all make good use of magus already.

Some form of mana sustain would be a very nice quality of life benefit for ap junglers. Enables some to clear faster and make them less likely to oom in fights after farming without hogging the blue buff. Not a real combat buff, but increases their farming ability and such...

If you want something crazy to open the door to a plethora of ap champs jungling you give magus some sort of damage mitigation or healing effect so squishy mages can jungle healthier. Something similar to Ryze's new shield passive. Or the old spirit stone. Back then the jungle was weaker and spirit stone was a thing pre nerf Syndra or Lissandra could jungle fairly well.

before cinderhulk warriors was the best enchantment because getting it increased clear speeds dramatically. juggernaut, and magus weren't as good because getting the enchantments didn't help in the clear speeds so junglers who relied on them fell further behind the warrior junglers. To combat this they gave tank jungle items the immolate passive to increase clear speed and the late game scaling of percent hp gain. After cinderhulk came out warrior enchantments were able to find a niche in the early game ganking junglers who hoped to snowball their lanes. Cinderhulk's niche became a lategame scaling tank. so the jungle landscape so far is

warrior -early game ganker. cinderhulk -late game tank

if we are to follow this pattern then magus needs a way to increase clear speeds, and we also have to ask ourselve the question of what sort of niche we want magus junglers to fit in. do we want them to be early game gankers only with ap instead of ad?

as for devourer i'm thinking a lategame damage dealer? I'm thinking that we carve devourer into a jungle item for marksmen to take, that sounds fun.
