Does darius counter garen?

garen vs darius..i;ve played a game and destroyed him in lane:)..i've played it smart, but, does dariu really counter garen? I started E vs him

Yes, Darius destroy Garen. His bleed delay Garen healing by a hella lot, he has in fight sustain, which is better when fighting versus Garen out fight sustain. They both thrive in long fight, but Darius scale harder in longer fight due to Noxian Might, and Darius ult goes straight up >1000 true damage bypassing Garen W, while Garen normal ult does not reach that level unless he ult someone at 5% health, not factoring in MR, and even when Darius is a villain its a toss up, with Darius being easier to access

Its skill matchup. Whoever is better player wins.

Garen can regenerate bullying from Darius thanks to his passive, Darius can heal by hitting with his Q blade, which skilled Garen can dodge, but skilled Darius can slow Garen before using Q, but skilled Garen can silence Darius after slow, but skilled Darius can pull Garen after silence and so on.

yes,, i think it;s a skill matchup..depends on the player..however i don't see how this guy can kill garen:P..unless the garen plays really bad

Really comes down to their passives. Darius passive basically cancels garens and some. both do a lot of damage otherwise and are naturally tough. The only way for garen to win this fight is to get a level and advantage ealry and do a hard all in with a full judgement and ignite.

This is how i've played it. I started E vs him, so can trade with him in minions..I bait his Q which is realy easy to dodge and go on him.At level 2, if he missed his Q i will use my silence and E and go back, even if i lose the trade, i will regen alot of health.I kept doing this over and over.He made some mistakes and i killed him(overstayed in lane)..I abuse the fact that he needs mana to spam.I've finished the lane 3-1 vs him.The one death was bcs i got cocky and dived him(forgot he had ignite).

This is in plat elo(plat 1)..i was diamond last season.And this was my first garen game:P..Ranked

Exactly that. You obviously played smarter than him. They are even in damage, their abilities make balanced matchup lane. Its all about who plays better. I mean, its always like that. Champs dont matter, its all about skill. Just those people who complain about champs or items, they just wont accept that they were outplayed by better player. There is no OP champion, only better players.

I'd have to say that Darius does counter Garen because his passive not only delays Garen's passive, but Darius can then proceed to out sustain him with his Q. And while Garen can break free from all slows affecting him, Darius can apply a second slow onto him to prevent his escape.

That said, Garen can still win in this match up. I've beaten Darius as Garen in top at least once; however, it's a definite struggle for me to do so whereas I find harassing and bullying Garen as Darius rather easy. When Darius top, my main concern usually isn't my lane opponent. My concern is the enemy Jg as well as whether or not enemy mid will roam top. There are also instances, however rare, in which the enemy ADC will gank me despite the laning phase not having ended.
