The worst part of the game. It happens to everyone at least once.

What is the worst part of the game? The absolutely worst part? Sometimes you see a kill. They're stupidly low. You feel like you can go in and get a kill and then something messes up. You miss a skill shot, you auto a minion or the jungler pops out right at the last shot. Then you try and farm when you come back and boom, the jungler comes in and you just drop.

Now you're 0/2 super early and the top laner now can kill you just be breathing on you. What can you do? Well, not much. You can't really farm under tower because they're just that much bigger than you. Could you lane swap? Not really. You're pretty much now playing a game that's probably the least fun game you've ever played. You're playing the waiting game. You can't farm because they can kill you under tower, you can't fight, you can't do.... anything. The jungler can't even help you because the top laner will just kill you and the jungler. Oh and you think you're relatively safe under tower? Well now the jungler is here to turret dive you. Oh and guess what? Now your teammates are flaming you, spamming "report top laner, inting." in /all chat.

We've all had that game where you shout to yourself, "What am I supposed to do!?" It's a horrible awful feeling. It's one of the times when leaving the game almost seems like it has a legitimate reason at this point. There's losing lane and then there's literally not being allowed to play the game.

It's a really crappy thing to go through. So, I ask this question to you players who've been through this: How do you keep yourselves from Alt-F4ing? How to keep yourselves from tilting beyond any point of return when you find yourselves here?

Worse than that is when you get a huge lag spike when you go in that causes you to die when you should have gotten the kill.

The worst feeling is when you go 12/0 in top lane but you still lose because the enemy bot lane is a hyper-carry and the support bought Ardent Censor.

But yeah I understand your pain. I struggle with those situations more often than I'd admit. I just try to get what little cs I can and otherwise I just do my best to stay in exp range. Sometimes I even steal camps from the jungler or I go down and take Scuttle Crab whilst there's some downtime. Roaming is also an option but that's very situational considering that you currently have a negative KDA.

Carrying from top lane isn't hard. People make it out to be impossible when it's really not. I actually switched from jungle to top because it's easier to carry from. More XP and Gold.

Biggest problem I see is that 90% of top laners get fed early then just sit in their lane doing nothing for an eternity. Shove your lane in, roam mid. Shove your lane in, roam mid. Shove your wave in, walk down to drag. Shove your wave in, grab Rift. Shove your wave in, look for a TP play. Don't just sit in your lane wondering why you can't do anything.

The number of top laners who do nothing but sit in lane is depressing. Go do something else besides camping your 0/4 opponent that isn't even worth gold anymore

It's pretty easy to get fed top but the thing is its hard to use that lead. I did have a very good fiora game where I just dropped outer tower after outer tower. But being as how ghost got gutted I can't roam from top anymore. I prefer playing mid because the only thing worse than not being able to roam is having the enemy mid get fed and start to roam.

Also It's not always as simple as go do something other than camp your laner. Being the home of spiltpushing champs I get overly cautious going further than mid lane without tp. If they can get just one wave to tower its gonna die in many cases. :/

Its easy.... in low elo. At mid & higher all is decided during the early... mainly by bot

Jayce from skt sit in sidelane doing nothing but splitpush

What about when you're winning lane against a champ that you typically struggle against. Not demolishing, but a kill and/or 5-10 farm ahead, and that's good enough.

You patiently poke and trade with them, wait for your CDs to be up, and all-in...and four other people show up in your lane, because your allies are behind and have no lane control.

Can't even really blame your allies because

  1. That just makes everyone more tilted and
  2. You really should have looked at the map before going for the kill

But those games where you're winning a difficult lane, and expecting to have a solid game, but every enemy always has their ult and sums up, everyone can freely roam to your lane without missing farm, and every time you try to make a play you get jumped by 3+ people while your allies are hiding under a tower somewhere.

I almost prefer allies that die once every 2-3m to allies that apply no pressure on the map and have no ability to keep track of their opponent laner.

Here I am about to get the kill. Then Robin hood Tristana shouts OH MERRY MEEEEEEN!! Poof shield plus ardent plus heal. Poof here comes the jungler and I don't have princess fiona with me. Crap.

What I do is I see where they are applying their power and go limp.

For example, top laner and jungler are super ahead of me and they are going to 2v1 me under turret (unless I'm playing Shen, then that never happens). I back out of the lane and cede turret, deciding to gank another lane.

Sion is a great example. If your lane (somehow) got screwed up majorly, back or walk to another lane and position yourself for an ult. Even if you don't get the kill, you have helped shift the power in your favor somewhere else on the map.

From there it's a matter of what objectives are available and how the teams respond.

That's the beauty of tanks, you never really fall behind. Bruisers and carries are kinda different though, carries get their spikes delayed and are useless until then. Bruisers cease to exist, and then later transform into a discount Alistar. But tanks are always usefu, whether you initiate and die, or initiate and don't die.

Either I'm playing a tank and still be useful with CC. Or I'm playing an assassin or the absolutely worst fucking roles to be stuck in this position as ADC and 10x worse support.

Often times I'm able to feed then farm off the laner when I'm playing champs I'm really comfortable with like Poppy, Akali and Fiora. But if I'm not used to using that champ from behind like quin. I feel like uninstalling. But I don't because my net is horrible.

I used to be a top lane main who did feast or famine champs. Basically if it's famine I took a step back and I did what I could. I got vision in our jg, I took a jungle camp and not the whole of, and I was only just within range to get so. I told my team my position and when the top lane backed I farmed. When they left I farmed. And I just never let them get close to diving me until I was strong enough to not fall over.

Spite. Just keep playing out of spite.

They want you to quit, so just drag the game out longer so they have to suffer too. :3c

And just hope your team wants to ff. lol

marpatt111 votes

What I do, is focus on the positives of the game, like for example, my jg and mid are doing well, or maybe even out botlane, we're ahead in towers/objectives, etc, If you're just straight losing and you have no towers, and everyone has a negative kda. Well then think about how you could win this, try, try try, maybe you'll even get a kill or two by not giving up, its all about the positives not the negatives. And if you're still not convinced, and there is actually no hope, all teammates are behind in cs, kills, your team is behind in objectives, everyone feels like giving up, everyone is flaming (to solve for flaming, say "im muting you, Persons username" and mute them, then just report them at the end) well, thats what the surrender vote is for, when there is truly no hope. I hope this helps you [slayer-jinx-catface]

u let urself be carried. play til min 15 or 20 the safest u can be, group with people and wait for a time to be useful because you WILL be. it's a 5v5 for a reason and champs are designed like that. if you tell me you're a 1v1 champ with no poke and underleveld, I still say wait and group, til your team does some dmg and u can finish off 1 enemy, or help with objectives when the occasion arises. if a game is indeed lost, then accept the loss and play your best til FF or end, but don't afk and ruin everyone else's experience. the game has come backs. 1 player doing bad isn't the end all. and if it's more than 1 player at fault, u still dont go afk. the punishment and simply being a douche is not worth it.

don't forget to MUTE! ;)

If they win their lanes that is.

AdeBug1 votes

no, regardless. u can ff at any time, the hard part is to get the rest to agree.

Or we can look at the bright side: there's always next game. Take your current game as a chance to practice on something else.

If you're in your usual gold/silver soloQ, chances are you'll probably never see the same teammates again, so no one really remembers who exactly did what unless it's something we don't see everyday: in this case, we do all the time.

I went 0/13 as to Mordekaiser the other day. Level 2 Garen silenced me and Kha jumped on me from behind the wall in top lane and they literally instagibbed me from 100% health before the silence wore off. Zero counterplay.

I came back to lane and Kha was behind the wall and they flat out tower dove me and killed me again. Came back to lane and 2 minutes later they dove me again. Repeat 10+ times.

Plot Twist: Shockingly my team didn't rage at me, and we ended up winning because we had a Tristana and Kha forgot bot lane existed.

It's stupid when junglers don't understand there's more than one Lane, you can't camp top all day just because it's easier to gank while your other lanes are behind. It's stupid to go to a lane that's already winning hard to look like you're doing something.

Alex h87211 votes

Exactly, i've been that toplaner thats just getting camped for the 1st 15 minutes of the game, and the positive side of it is it makes the rest of the map 4v3 for your team, its about losing the minimum because if their jungler spends all their time toplane your botlane and mid should come out ahead of their enemy counterparts

Usually, if I do get a game where I cant do anything and my teammates start flaming me, I just have fun with their flame. I try to keep my morale up by joking (having fun does not mean running it down mid/afk, it can just be talking in the chat from time to time).

For exemple, if somebody start saying that im useless, I just start telling them that my gameplay summarize me in real life. Well, it might sound sad at first and kind of stupid, but I have a dark humor, so joking about hard stuff about myself or other stuff always makes me laugh.

One other fun way I like to do is just call people who flame me daddy and I keep telling them that they turn me on by flaming me. Usually, they will stop flaming and on rare occasion, they even start joking with me.

If I ever get the keep yourself safe word, I end up telling them that I tried it once and was unsuccessful, telling them that its kind of pointless to tell me to do such acts since I cant even do it.

In the end, you dont have to do what I do, but my point stands: try to have fun in the worst scenarios.

Gl in your next games!

Farm under turret, roam, take scuttle and side jungle camps, you can always farm under turret, and if you're always under turret your jungler has easy lane long ganks to do.

Sire Hippington1 votes

If i find my self in that position, i usually start roaming and trying sneak some xp from the jungle. If you get a succeslfull fight on the botside where you 4vs 2 with your jungler+bot, it can be enough to get you atleast strong enough to survive under the tower. If premade with jungler or mid, you can also try to pu down good vision an bait them into an dive with your buddy nearby for the cleanup.

When your winning lane but mid lane manages to go 0/5 and lets the fed Zed run around the map like it's his playground.

Another thing just as worse- when you see a teammate pick a "certain" champion, and you know it's gonna be an automatic loss.

For me, its people who take Teemo Zed Yasuo.

This is an issue if we disect it. League is slowly kinda losing ways to "deal with situations".

Don't get me wrong, Riot has been doing the best they can to balance and provide items that give different options, but thats just items. The biggest thing right now that cant be helped (other than ardent cresent/hyper carry?) is the fact that turrets dont make you feel safe. "just back" isnt a solution either, because it snowballs the team and puts you farther behind because you dont have any resources to "secure" farm and try to catch up.

The whole point of a getting a turret is:

NOT : Hey! We got a bunch of gold to snowball off of

IT IS : Hey! We can now press them and strategically keep them at bay while we make plays around the map.

Its about giving or gaining "playable territory". Not granting gold.

Its mostly wait for them to take tower while youre down 30-50 cs and try to afk farm at tier 2 tower. Towers dives are supposed to be risk = reward. There should be a 50/50 chance if only two people dive someone that the..... dive-ee? gets a double instead and catches up and makes a mini-lane-comeback.

Azazel Aerternum1 votes

It's simple, you just put them behind, and make them feel your suffering instead of you.

Trust me, it feels bad, I had someone do it to me once so I learned that I'd rather hard win lane or go even, and then zone the enemy off of farm and ultimately hard-win the game.

I played Annie Top once vs Nasus, accidentally took a Doran's Blade, what did I do? Well usually as Annie you pretty much just lose to Nasus, you can't trade him enough to force him out of lane, and you have to force him out of lane to make him irrelevant.

I did the logical thing, I auto'd him, constantly. Non-stop auto attacks, I managed to kill him while only having used like two spells on him in the laning phase. He had almost no farm, I had more sustain than he did b/c of the Doran's Blade (just spam them auto attacks), and the fact that I wasn't letting him reach the end of the laning phase. I snowballed that advantage and we eventually won b/c of it.

I think he ended the game as 0/7/1 or so.
