@Riot What are you gonna do about the mid lane mages that were basically taken out of the game

Right now due to the MASSIVE nerf in mana regen across the board, basically the only champs that can thrive in mid lane are assassins (Zed, Leblanc, Fizz), champs that, for some odd reason, can get away with being a bit spammy (Azir, Vel'koz) and people with mana regen passives (Xerath, Kassadin, Lissandra, Annie). Right now champs like Lux, Ziggs, and Orianna(yes even Orianna) are not even being thought of being picked in solo q. And since mana regen is a worthless stat now, Manaless champs(We all know who I'm talking about) can run rampant. Zed really isn't that broken of a champ, but since every mage that can even have a hope of poking him out of lane will be oom in 5 spell casts he cannot be stomped. Lux's E has a rank 5 of 130 mana. Is that a joke? Her Q 90. Ziggs E has 110. His Q 90. Compared to Vel'koz who not only has long range but is a LOT spammier with lower mana costs and about the same damage ratios. These long range champs were the reason Syndra, Ahri and Zed were kept in check. You nerfed them and now they run rampant. Soon mid lane is going to be whatever champ can still have mana at the end of the day, regardless of skills. You've taken out all the diversity from the most diverse lane in the game.

I really can't organize my words in these posts like I want to but hopefully someone who is really articulate can read it and write it better than I can.

I think that the whole assassin mid issue is due in part to how mobility has been creeping up in terms of power and the number of champs who have it but the cc to be used to counter it has not. A one second stun used to be killer but know if you cant burst most champs before that is up it is just a quick hop, flash or some other movement speed buff and there goes that kill, even worse when they just wall jump/dash. Slows have also been hit hard as what good is a slow if I can still dash for full sped and the same range as before. The Mana nerf is just another in a long line of nails in immobile mages coffin as a whole. Most of the mages late game is still good and all but assians like Zed, Fizz and akali can snowball so much harder though mid, so is it really worth that risk of feeding a champ that can snow ball just as hard if not better than you just for some late game power they are designed to stop. As for champs like Xerath, Kassadin, Lissandra I see them much more often top than mid now so maybe galio top is coming back into style, and all these poor tanky melee just get hung out to dry for awhile.
