When you all reworked Zyra and Vel'koz...

What exactly was going through your heads?

"Let's increase this champ's already ridiculous damage by spawning 5 plants in lane. That'll really show em 'strategic diversity '" or whatever buzzword riot keys in seasonally.

"Range, spammy skills, true damage? The heck with it, better add more true damage! Thats a 'meaningful weakness' for ya!"

Gonna take someone doing 80k damage in an lcs series to get them nerfed too.

Riot is the best

zyras dumb, but honestly getting hit by velkoz you deserve it since you can see all the skillshots coming, two have indicators and all three have a meh travel speed.

is the whole 'dodge everything and ur gud' thing apt her, kinda, but when you make a champion skillshot based that's essentially all it waters down to.

Zyra's update actually nerfed her damage though. While her base health and MS got increased, and she got the nifty new passive, plants are squishier than they were before the update, and have lower base damage (down to 19-127 down from 23-140) as well as a lower AP ratio (15%, down from 20%). Her W no longer gives 2% CDR per rank (which itself was nerfed, it used to give 4% CDR per rank), and her ult does less damage too, because it increases plant damage rather than attack speed.

Vel'Koz's W and E ap scalings were nerfed to compensate for the increased true damage. Basically the Mage rework exchanged some of Vel'Koz's magic damage into true damage thus giving him the identity of a true damage mage.
