Annie Rework Idea

So its 4 am and I'm bored and have ideas at this time of night so here goes my ideas for what a potential Annie Rework would look like: NOTE: the scale of this change would be akin to a full VGU.

CURRENT IDENTITY= Burst Mage, TIBBERS!,

CURRENT PROBLEMS= Strong lack of counterplay, very limited outplay potential, doesn't have much to do once her rotation is done

GOAL OF REWORK= Give Annie players more to do in lane and team fights, give more counterplay to her play pattern, and make tibbers fit his thematic more.

PASSIVE: Pyromania

Annie's auto attacks periodically leave a flame upon killing an enemy minion or attacking a champion. The flame stays at the location of the dead enemy (or at location of enemy champ when hit) and deals 20-200 (+30% AP) (based on level) per second to enemies who cross their path (champions hit by the auto are not dealt damage immediately). Annie's flames can be enhanced by her other abilities based on which ones are used in their vicinity as well. The flames size grow each time an ability is used in their vicinity and grow massively when TIbbers is summoned. Flames last 30 seconds.

** Q: Disintegrate** RANGE: 700 COST: 20/25/30/35/40 Mana COOLDOWN: 4 Seconds DAMAGE: 80/110/140/170/200 (+50% AP)

Annie hurls a fireball at the target enemy dealing magic damage. (targeted like on live). Half its mana cost is refunded if it kills the target and half its cooldown is immediately refreshed.

Additionally, if used on an enemy champion that is near (700 range) a lit flame or flames deal an additional 20/40/60/80/100 (+30% AP magic damage.

W: Incinerate RANGE: 600 COST: 70/80/90/100/110 Mana COOLDOWN: 8 Seconds DAMAGE: 70/115/160/205/250 (+65% AP)

Annie releases a cone of fire in the target direction (same size as on live) dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area. Deals an extra 50% damage to minions and monsters.

Additionally if used on a lit flame the the flame expands in a line based on the direction it was hit from Incinerate. (so it expands when hit but in a more straight line and about the width of a xerath Q, but much bigger range than incinerate.) The range of the flames expansion is 1000 from the location of the flame with a 0.5 second delay and indicator. Enemies hit by the flames expansion are dealt 1 second of the flames per second damage, before the flame instantly reverts to normal.

E: Flame Wall RANGE: 1000 COST: 100 Mana COOLDOWN: 22/20/18/16/14 Seconds

Annie burns the ground in a line near her leaving flames entirely along its path. The width of the flames are twice that of a normal flame and enemies who cross the path will be dealt the normal damage of the flames.

Additionally any nearby flames burn a path to the wall and attach to make the wall even bigger but do no increase its damage.

(for casting, think vector casting like Viktor E )

R: Summon Tibbers RANGE: 1000 COST: 100/125/150 Mana COOLDOWN: 110/100/90 Seconds INITIAL DAMAGE: 100/200/300 (+50% AP)

Annie throws her tibbers at a target location in a burst of flame. (travel speed is relatively quick with no indicator) Upon Summoning Tibbers Annie loses control of all her basic abilities, but gains 3 new ones in their place with the R ability still being used to control tibbers. If Tibbers crosses the path of any flame his next auto attack will stun the target for 1.5/1.75/2 seconds. Tibbers gains +30% movespeed when running towards an enemy champion and double that if they are recently burned by a flame

TIBBERS STATS:

HEALTH: 1500/2500/3500 Attack Speed: 0.625 Range: 150 Armor: 30/50/70 (+20% AP) Magic Res: 30/50/70 (+20% AP) Move Speed: 350 (Tibbers runs on all fours now like he should) Tenacity: 75%

TIBBERS ABILITIES (NOT AFFECTED BY COOLDOWN REDUCTION:

Q: MAUL

RANGE: 150 DAMAGE: 100/150/200 (+40% AP) COOLDOWN: 2 Seconds

Tibbers picks up the enemy champion and slams them into ground dealing heavy magic damage, the enemy champion is then slowed for 1 second for 40/50/60%.

W: Flame Swipe RANGE: 700 DAMAGE: 100/150/200 (+50% AP) COOLDOWN: 4 seconds

Tibbers rears back and channels for 0.75 seconds (like darius Q) before swiping in an AOE in a cone around him heavily damaging enemy champions and knocking them DOWN and slowing them for 1 second for 40/50/60%. If Tibbers swips over a lit flame the enemy is slowed for twice as long.

E: Get 'Em Tibbers! RANGE: 800 DAMAGE: 50/100/150 (+15% AP) COOLDOWN: 8 Seconds

Tibbers leaps in a direction as commanded by Annie. If he lands on an enemy champion he suppresses them for 0.5 seconds and is granted 150% bonus attack speed for 3 seconds

R: Control Tibbers (like on live)

Tibbers auto attacks deal 50/75/100 (+15% AP) on hit and this damage is doubled if the enemy is standing on top of a lit flame Tibbers lasts either 45 seconds or until he dies. When he dies he roars out for 1 second before bursting into flame dealing 100/200/300 (+50% AP) in an area of effect at his location.

So thats it. probably too long, but im tired and bored. figured I'd give it a go before this gets downvoted into oblivion. Any thoughts and feed back would be great. **try not to read too much into the numbers I'm kind of just spitballing here and have no idea what would actually be balanced **

You do know that Annie isn't just a fire mage right?

She's some kind of Warlock/Witch hybrid magic user, the fact that her fire spells can stun you kinda implies that, as does the mana refund on her Q and most obviously is of course the Tibbers summon. Sure Riot could do a much better job of showing her darker powers in her spell animations and with ability names but that's beside the point, an eventual visual update could easily fix that.

What is it with people and always tying to turn her into a generic fire mage? Her fire spells are just the visual theme in her kit, they are not her whole identity, she is the hybrid prodigy of a Witch and a Warlock first, her fondness of fire comes second.

doesn't have much to do once her rotation is done

That is the whole point of burst mages like Annie. They are suppose to be vulnerable and useless when their rotation is on cd.

of course, but annie is rather extreme. when her ult is on cooldown she doesn't do much if anything. even a champ like syndra can have power when her ult is down. maybe syndra isn't the best example but think of someone like viktor.

viktor is a burst mage but he has zoning, wave clear, and a fun healthy kit that is fun to play against and as. Annie is just "do i have tibber? if yes, go in, if no wait"

Annie also has zoning (with stun) and waveclear (with W).

Vik, btw, also usually waits until he has his ult up to go all in too. That doesn't mean that you can't poke at the enemy in between when the opportunity arises.
