Tanks vs fighters Top

I believe that tanks are only super popular in top lane atm because with all of the super tanks in top lane there is no way to kill them after last whisper has gotten gutted and is no longer effective. Champs like fiora are succeeding since she is one of maybe 2ish people that could build damage and keep up with super tank tops since her passive. Champs like riven and jayce have no possible way to deal with them black cleaver is trash and had its price increased and last whisper is **** tier. What do you think?

Super tanks are top lane because they are the only things that can survive the 3+ ADC's worth of damage on teams. LW was nerfed but ADC's don't even need it to do massive damage anymore.

Also if you playing a fighter top and you don't go Titanic+BC into tank you are never going to survive anything to even begin to fight.

Yeah this. I have no problem against tanks as a fighter (except certain matchups against naut) but either of them has to build 3 defense items minimum just to not die instantly

Tiamat and cleaver sure it solves your issue with surviving vs lets say a poppy but you dont do dmg to squishies lol your going to be doing less dmg than a full tank poppy and that being said triple adc comps aren't even that common tbh i haven't seen in any of my past 20 games maybe ive had 1 game where i had more than 1 adc on the enemy team. Why should i have to extremely change my build path because im facing a poppy or naut or rammus top just because they actually do more dmg than me while being effectively the tankiest with no way for me to deal with them. Also, i believe the reason tanky fiora was so popular was because she would do the same dmg as lets say poppy but also be tanky like a poppy. EVEN THEN poppy still countered her in lane.

Everyone buys item 3742 and everyone has damage.

There are no roles anymore. Everyone can be everything. Supports can one-shot you, Tanks can burst down carries, assassins can build 3K HP and everyone thinks that's healthy.

I actually did the math concerning Last Whisper here.

Bottom line: item 3036 results in more damage vs. tanks now than Last Whisper did to tanks last-season.

Due to both component items also housing anti-tank mechanics prior to completing the item, and those components are both notably cheaper than Last Whisper was last season, anti-tank itemization has objectively gotten a net buff.

In regards to dealing with tanks.

Where item 3035 item 3036 are a clear nerf to the itemization is more in using those items vs. anyone that isnt a mega-tank, seeing as Lord Dominik's is essentially a item 1038 for twice the price vs. anyone with negligible bonus armor and no max health advantage.

Looking at the pro scene: tanks seem to be a thing top-lane more for team-comp reasons than counter picking reasons as well. It's nice to have a tank, and top-lane is currently the best lane position to put a tank. Cinderhulk could be better, mid and bot aren't going to be tanks, and supports generally lack the resources to be the front-line on their own.

Yea but that just further proves my point that as of right now last whisper is a trash item its only going to increase your damage against the top laner but to a certain extent, the can still probably kill you as a fighter top and its very cost inefficient the way i see it since its a lot of assassins/fighters that want the item, but dont want to sacrifice it because the adc might be able to survive their combo late game even if you do manage to catch them out of position since their defensive items are truly pretty stupid for them. Im just rambling at this point but the main thing i want to get at is that the old last whisper was just BETTER BY A LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG RUN.

I really like the math you did makes it a lot clearly to read and understand, but what i dont get is why does void staff get to keep their non bonus mr pen :(
