Alright. As we all know, Riot messed up. Big time. They introduced a ranked system only to NA that completely messed up the first half of this season, and they are now doing a ranked reset of Diamond+ and tossing out positional ranks. Sounds great; unless you're like me and completed all of your ranked placements and got placed in bronze 3 on all of them, then climbed all the way up. Each position took me 20-30 games to climb from bronze to silver. I've played over 100 ranked games this season. 4/5ths of my games will now be entirely irrelevant. And I'm certain I'm not the only player who feels some type of way about this. The idea that all of the ranked grinds anyone diamond+ has done will be tossed out the window doesn't sit well with me, nor does the fact that any other rankings you did other than your main will completely be tossed out. That means that after my 100-150 games are said and done after this ranked reset rolls out, only 20 or so of them will actually matter. How is that fair to me and the plenty of other players who will be heavily impacted by this? This is my first serious ranked season, and unless we're compensated somehow by our ranks being adjusted and fixed or some other sort of compensations with skins or honors detailing which roles you actually did get your rankings for, it'll probably be my last. It's unfair to have 4/5ths of the ranked games I played tossed because Riot made a mistake, and then to be told to get over it. If yall can hand out free skins to the phillipines for doing literally nothing, then what do we get for being dealt the short end of the stick? Do we get some sort of ranked armor or icon denoting that we finished each positional ranking, or just thrown under the bus because Rito made a mistake? Honestly contemplating moving back over to DOTA or Smite at this point unless this is resolved. I don't think its fair for me to have played this many matches and have nothing to show for it.

Yikes. This seems pretty bad. Idk why Riot keeps screwing over their fanbase. Listen to the 'low elo' players for a change; they deserve to be heard too.

100% Agree.I played 53 games this season,and got to Grandmaster 200 LP with 75% winrate...I really don't believe i should have it taken away from me like this,I get why it's done and why it's inevitable,but at the very least a LITTLE compensation..Like an icon or an emote,just anything...Do you really expect us to just accept Riot's apology? As if that ever works? Look,i wasted my time here,it's not like i can just "grind it back m8 its just easy just play!" Yes,in theory i could totally do that,but it's time consuming and honestly demoralizing,I thought i did pretty well,yes the quality of games has been significantly lower this season,but we all know this ranked system is just the scapegoat,the real problem at least in EUW Soloq is that there SHOULD be a region lock,or transfers should get D4 maximum as a division,period..But of course they will never do that,and we all know the answer as to why.

This whole ranked system BS makes me not want to play ranked. Even if I started playing ranked soon, I would get nothing for any roles I get filled into, and God forbid I want to play a different role; it won't affect my LP at all. Glad they did this before I got too hooked on the game I guess. Just shit all over the 70% of your players who are from iron to gold because the other 30% of them got upset. Glad the majority isn't your priority.

I agree entirely. The whole thing that riot has been pushing this season has been that they didn’t want it to seem too grindy. Which I understand, however that’s exactly how they made it with the positional ranks. And many many players have endured that grind to try to be gold+ in each position as I’m pretty sure riot mentioned a good possibility of there being extra rewards for doing so. I’m not asking for riot to drop my bank account a quick 100 dollars or anything, but a free skin or something like that would definitely be a good start to an apology for all the players this will negatively impact.

just revert the system back to elo rating imo. also if riot wanted positional mmr to work they needed to untether the mmr between roles, ie. make them completely independent of each other. the way it works currently your offrole mmr is tethered to your highest mmr, which means if you play an offrole you will still get matched roughly according to your main role's mmr, which is why we are seeing such imbalanced matches.

Since you didn't take ranked seriously until this season, you probably didn't see the absolute shitshow that was autofilled games last season. Players were routinely being autofilled into elo brackets they didn't have the skill to play in and a ton of games were decided at champ select based on which team got autofilled. Even if you only had one rank, it took much longer to grind that rank because so many of your games were meaningless due to autofilled players.

You had the pleasure of playing on position ranks which actually gave you meaningful games and let you climb from bronze 3 to silver in only 20 or so games. Under the old system, you would still be stuck in bronze after 100 games cursing the autofilled allies for dragging down your rank.

I, for one, am sad to see positional ranks removed. I liked the new system and it brought me back to ranked.

I liked ranked a few years ago but left it largely because I like to play all roles and too man toxic players inhabit ranked. I enjoyed the more competitive play, and generally better players and plays, but disliked the ignorant griefers.

This new system seemed to be a lot better than the ranked system I left 2 years ago.

Only time will tell if going backwards also reverts to a more toxic community that punishes players who play a little of everything rather than being a "mid main" on only one champ so they dodge when that champ gets banned.
