Yes please, I enjoy having my spellshield when actually in combat and not losing it due to a stray ludens proc.

Yeah it really feels like a noob trap most of the time.

And having the timer for a 2 second shield begin when you land a spell is not a noob trap?

Unless you're an assassin, Bloodletter's Veil is bad. Mages with Banshee's Veil have a defensive shield for when they're ganked or being chased, and they're not required to cast a spell reactively in order to hope they can bring it up to stop future damage. Mage are especially vulnerable to first strikes, as they are squishy as fuck, so blocking an initial strike is far more important than blocking the follow up. I'm not opposed to Bloodletter being in the Rift. I AM opposed to it replacing Banshee's Veil.

its under a tab called "assassinate your opponents" for a reason

for assassins

You don't say. But when people here are trying to make a case that it's better than Banshee's, or is some kind of "more balanced" version of it, it implies that they want it to replace Banshee's.

I'm not really advocating for Bloodletter in favor of Banshee's (actually I think Bloodletter would be broken on a lot of assassins), but rather complaining about how ineffective Banshee's can often be. There should be some sort of damage or cc threshold on it so that crappy cheese doesn't knocked it off.

That said, at least it has offensive stats now.

It has 30 sec cd I doubt it will even replace banshees unless you build both which can be cool

I'd kind of like for Banshee's to get Bloodletter's stats. It feels kind of useless without stats, but Riot doesn't want to make an AP/MR item with good stats because Athene and Abysal Scepter Metas.

While they're at it, replace Banshee's with a GOOD MR AP item that isn't just a 40s cd spellshield.

Amoc1 votes

It's an MR, CDR and AP item all together on top of a 40s spellshield.

It's a highly conditional and much worse version of Banshee's Veil. Banshee's Veil is useful because you can somewhat control how you engage or take damage that would pop the shield.

Bloodletter's Veil is conditionally worse because not only does the shield last for only 2 seconds unless popped, it's also tied to using spells, so someone who may need to first engage with ranged abilities will activate the shield and it will most likely expire before you can actually use it. It's got niche application, and it's generally not a good replacement for Banshee's Veil.

Yeah it's an excellent item and should be in the base game.

Banshee's veil completely shuts down certain engage champions who rely on one ability to get to lock you down. Like Malphite.

Ehhhhh, until you get hit by any other ability

I agree. I only ever build banshees on one champion in certain situations. I'd rather have Bloodletter vial then anyway lol

seems broken for it's cost, imagine countering someone's every ult with an offensive item... also what are we going to do for mr? build abyssal mask? lol

GrReaper961 votes

Why not both? Just make their passives Unique

FirewaterDM1 votes

The only reason I support this is banshee's is lowkey garbage (same with zhonya's but that's a different story) - think both could be nice because divers/assassins prob prefer this one to reg banshee's but then riot guts both due to them possibly being "op"
