Support items for supports to support AP champions

Nothing really complex or anything but just a simple set of ideas for supports to supprot AP champions instead of only marksmen. I think the gold generation on the gp10 items could be higher but meh, this is about how a support item could synergize with AP instead of AD. First 4 are the +2gp10 items. The 5th and 6th are items to build after and the 7th is an item that builds into the 5th or 6th item.

Magician's Rod +10 AP +2 gold per 10 seconds Unique Passive: Every 30 seconds you Enchant a nearby allied champion. Enchanted champion's next ability deals +10% bonus damage and grants you gold base on how much damage they deal to enemy champions with that ability. (max 50 gold)

Envoker's Cane +30 AP +2 gold per 10 seconds Unique Passive: Every 20 seconds you Enchant a nearby allied champion. Enchanted champion's next ability deals +20% bonus damage and grants you gold base on how much damage they deal to enemy champions with that ability. (max 50 gold)

Sorcerer's Staff +60 AP +10% CDR +2 gold per 10 seconds Unique Passive: Every 20 seconds you Enchant nearby allied champions. Enchanted champion's next ability deals +20% bonus damage and grants you gold base on how much damage they deal to enemy champions with that ability. (max 50 gold)

Sorcerer's Eye +30 AP +200 HP +10% CDR +2 gold per 10 seconds Unique Active: Place a stealth ward (4 charges) Unique Passive: Every 20 seconds you Enchant a nearby allied champion. Enchanted champion's next ability deals +20% bonus damage and grants you gold base on how much damage they deal to enemy champions with that ability. (max 50 gold)

Paradox Amplifier +60AP +10% CDR +100% Mana Regen Unique Active - Paradox Recurrence: Target an allied champion to renew the last basic ability they just used. (CD 60 seconds)

Magus Earrings +40 AP +10% CDR +300 Mana +30 Armor Unique Passive: Gain bonus damage for your next ability the longer you stay near an allied champion with more AP then you.

Magical Charm +40 AP Unique Active: Gain 10% of target allied champion's AP for 10 seconds (CD 60 seconds)

Too much ap on the gold item, but it's an interesting concept for sure.

Paradox item's passive is too much. You don't want a Lux binding combo'd into ANOTHER Lux binding, or a Morgana Q combo'd into ANOTHER Morgana Q. Nice attempt, though.

Magus Earrings actually seem kinda cool.

Magical Charm is also cool, but needs better stats. 40 AP flat is too "bleh".

Overall: I would love Riot to look into the last two items the most. Those sound cool. Not bad, dude. 8/10 post.

Good advice. I wanted a bit higher AP on the items to allow more AP itemization options instead of shield/heal or tank support items. you're probably right its too high. Gotta beware the mid laner building solo. I would hope it could be similar to FQC item line though and that has 60 AP.

Actually, that's just what I want :) Double CC/utility options. Strong yes, but we play in a game where item 3107 item 3193 item 3190 are things. Duly noted that the ability can be super strong. Probably needs a higher CD in that case 60 seconds good? It might still be able to be 40 but it would be a radical new item with lots of crazy possibilities.

I'm glad you like the Earrings.

I know right? I didn't want to overload the item with lots of stuff though and felt it was the "I want to build AP" support item. Any suggestions what to add? Currently I see in my mind that it is built from 2 amp tombs.

Maybe decrease the ap a bit and add mana regen. Otherwise you're gonna oom and oom hard. The types of support picks to take this would need mana regen, anyway.

No, you have to blatantly scrap that effect. Just can't see that being healthy. DOUBLE MORG Q's? DOUBLE LUX SNARES? What about long stuns? Repeated knock ups? Even strong burst rotations repeated twice over? Riven getting the cd on her three hit Q reset back to full? That type of thing's just way too much.

Honestly, I'm shit when it comes to the numbers side of conceptual stuff. =/

So because a few champions have really good synergy with the item its automatically broken? Okay, umm....Chogath item 3193 want a word with you. Lol, that aside lets take each of those examples you've given. You have a valid point and I totally understand why the item seems OP so again, lets take a look at what would happen.

Lux binding has a 2 second snare. First off, if it hits and the team is nearby 2 seconds is more then enough time to kill whoever it hits. Also, Lux bursts all her damage up front and would likely kill with just the basic snare if they were squishy enough. Items that remove snares would still be available to avoid the double snare. All this assumes the support perfectly timed the active of the item to combo with Lux's timing of using the snare and before any of her other basic abilities. On the plus side this item would allow more ability to peel provided by the support in a unique fashion or allow the support to "boost" Lux's damage a bit. it could also allow double shielding from Lux and provide some pretty interesting choices on how and when to use the item with lux.

Morgana has a 3 second bind. Again, the same problem exist. 3 seconds is more then enough time for a team to kill the target. If you spam the ability too fast it loses meaning as the snare doesn't stack up to 6 seconds it would just refresh to 3 so that leaves waiting 3 seconds to hit them again. I can't really think of a game where a Morgana binding didn't give ample opportunity to kill those snared. This is a strong item with great ability to lock someone down in lane but that's assuming you are not done with lane by the time you build it. Most games the laning phase is over by the time you buy the first completed item as a support, normally by a good margin. Even Janna's rushing Ardent before SS often find themselves out of laning phase before finishing it.

Riven....still needs to complete the 3 parts of her Q to reQ. That already had a pretty short CD and wouldn't really give much more to her mobility that she didn't already have. Double AoE stun could be crazy though but then again you don't want your team to get hit with 1 AoE stun from her to begin with. The extra damage she gets from this item would be pretty close to the shield provide by locket once again evening up and her Q damage is dealt overtime due to being broken up into a 3 part combo.

It's not as broken as it sounds if you think about it. The most broken combo I could think of for this item was using it on Zilean with his rewind ability (a scary thought!) The key is to think, how would having a double ability affect a fight? Most abilities when you stack them up offer less then you think. In a perfect void, yes you could root someone for 6 seconds but wouldn't 3 seconds accomplish the same goal 99% of the time? You also need to keep in mind what the support needs to do to utilize this item, they need to be close to the ally, they need to time it perfectly, they need to coordinate perfectly with their ally, and the item needs to be on CD. i think the best part of the item is that they need to be close to the ally to use this item. late in the game supports don't travel around making a 2/3 split. Supports stick with the carry and the rest of the team so that a teamfight can be won. All that in mind, I would be curious how LCS players with their god like coordination would take to this item.

They JUST nerfed that synergy, actually. THIS patch.

It's a "I can't move for 4 seconds in a full on team fight" issue more than it's a "This specific champion is pelting me with abilities for 4 seconds" issue. Those types of durations on hard cc are akin to DotA 2 numbers, and I don't think LoL players appreciate that given the notion that LoL fights are way more bursty.

So, you propose that a support and a Lux perfectly coordinate during a single teamfight to hit the same target, while multiple champions try to kill them, with both snares perfect spaced apart at 2 seconds? Lux can't just rapid fire the things and have them stack. It would be a lot harder to do this then you think. I would point out that Morgana (who would theoretically root for 6 seconds) could actually use the buff as she is in a bad place at this time. Maybe this could be her calling? haha, but it's all theory. I mean these are just hypothetical items that could lead to AP+Support bot lane instead of always having Marksmen there. It could be as you say and so over powered that it's better then redemption's active that can fully heal a team and nuke 10% enemy health from a semi-global range. It could, but I just can't picture any basic ability cast by any champion having more impact then Redemption's active. Ultimates sure, but basics?

All it takes is initially identifying that someone's rooted for the support to just give their Lux another free cast of Q. Or whoever another free cast of whatever. It'd just turn into a massive abuse of cc, and we already have issues with cc in the game being pretty dang plentiful in the first place.

Look, the overall post is fine, but this one idea in the post just isn't that good of an idea.
